![]() ![]() Mom's poem What has happened to spring this year? The evening Pungent with promise of new life Gives way to morning—gentle, lacey, white. Is nature so upset it has lost its way? Fear not! Hath not God said: “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”1 Easter comes! I fain would find the certainty of Him within my being. Yet all the sounds and rush of life Drown out awareness of the Holy. How can I find Him for Whom my soul longeth? Fear not! Hath not Jesus said: “I am the Resurrection, and the life; He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.”2 Future days, once faced with courage, now stretch Through tangled hills, Each hour heavy with perplexity And clouds hung low. Where is hope for days ahead? Take heart! For God hath said: “Now the just shall live by faith…3 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…4 Yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.”5 -- Marjorie Wright, March 26, 1971 1.
