AGILITY TRAINING at NorAust

NorAust offers classes in agility and obedience for all levels of handlers and dogs.  From the complete beginner to the advanced competitor, come see why training at NorAust is fun and exciting.  All of our classes are taught with positive motivation and can be clicker adapted if the handler wishes. Clicker training is covered in obedience classes.

 

Nor Aust Training agility and obedience classes are

conducted on a well lit

grass field in a fully fenced area.  All agility classes are 8 weeks in length.  All classes are one hour in duration.  We offer a discount for continuing students.

 

All agility dogs are encouraged to have a pre class physical from their veterinarian.  We also encourage agility dogs to have x-rays done on hips, elbows and shoulders prior to enrolling in class.  All students must provide current proof of vaccinations PRIOR to attending class.  NorAust does not allow prong, choke collars or electronic collars on its site.  We use and recommend a flat buckle collar or Gentle Leader. 

 

Agility I -  Beginner concepts and obstacle familiarization.  Introduction to handling.  Open to any dog older than six months. Also a perfect class for the novice handler.  Includes some basic obedience work as it relates to agility.  Dogs must be social with other dogs. This is a limited jump height class. 

 

Agility II - For graduates of level I.  Beginning sequencing, working on speed and handling. Short courses.  Solidifying of basic agility principles including contacts, targeting, weave poles and sequencing.

 

Agility III – This class is by invitation of the instructor only.  Agility III is for the competitive agility enthusiast.  This class works on advanced sequencing and handling, gamblers work, snooker strategy and more.  The class encourages peer involvement and learning from others in the class.  Regular courses and more complex sequences are utilized.  Work on equipment from USDAA and AKC.
