Chapter 3
�It sounded like Chibi�s voice�� Eiji speculated. Inui stood nearby, seemingly calculating something, but while he was not holding his data book, it was hard to tell.
�Hmm� They really are late today�� Oishi agreed, �However, they may already be back on the courts� Let�s get back to practice before we make any judgements.�
His club-mates nodded, and with that, ran back to A-court, where the regulars were practicing.
�That�s it!� exclaimed Momo so suddenly he caused Ryoma to jump. �All we have to do is get back to the courts without getting spotted, before vice-captain Oishi gets back!�
��Oh, is that all..?� asked Ryoma sarcastically. He seemed to think that the task would be a lot more hassle than previously described. Momo, however, hushed him.
�Come on! It�s easy! We�ll stay in the shade of the trees and walk around the side of the court!�
Ryoma stared. Was his sempai this dense?
�Momo-sempai, the forest-like area only continues as far as C-court. We�ll be in plain view for two whole courts!�
�Oh yeah�.� Momo WAS that dense.
�Well,� Momo began again after some thought, �If we stuck to the cover of shade until C court, we could run down to the girls� clubroom and hide behind that, and then make a break for court A!�
�Girls� club room??� Asked Ryoma as if it was unthinkable to travel anywhere near there.
�It�ll be fine!� Momo laughed. He tried to be reassuring, but he had no proof that they would be fine, nor any reason to believe it.
Ryoma grunted.
�Ok, but NO-ONE will know about this. Understood??� Momo lowered his head.
��Yes��
Taking the only option they had (which neither of them liked very much) they ran onwards towards the girl�s clubroom. Upon reaching it, they pressed themselves up against the back of the wall and looked around the far left corner, Ryoma in the lead.
�Now, all we have to do is run around and into A-court�� Momo began, but he was disturbed by a noise from inside the clubroom.
�Noooo!!!� A girl screamed from inside the clubroom �Perverts!!!�
Momo hadn�t realised that his head was positioned right beneath the window, so his tall hair stuck up suspiciously and in plain view for the girls inside.
�What?? Where??� Cried another, as they rushed to her aid. One, fully dressed, ran outside and looked around the corner. By now the boys were standing statue still, shocked and trying to not overreact, as to not give away their position.
�Oh!� She said, in realisation, and she shouted to her friends inside, �It�s okay! They�re from the tennis club! They�re not interested!�
The replies from inside the room were that of relief, and the �victim� knocked on the window guiltily.
�Sorry!� she mouthed, and Momo nodded at her, sweat dropping. This was the last time he would ever go near the girls� clubroom.
Disaster -luckily- averted, Momo continued to whisper to Ryoma.
�As I said before, all we have to do is run around and into A-court.� He looked beyond Ryoma to check out their path. �It looks like it�ll be a straight passage��
Ryoma looked ahead. He saw the vice captain and his other sempais walking around the side of A court. If they didn�t move now, it would be too late.
�Momo-sempai! Let�s hurry!� He said, and he sprinted off ahead to the gate of A-court, Momo in tow.
