Demisor Interview

DEMISOR is one of my fave grindcore band here in SEA. Most especially when I see them play live and meet them personally. Fahmy is a great guy and I'm glad to received this interview done even its quite too old.

Hello Fahmy whats up kuya! How are you know...
*** Greetings from the grave! It's been a real horrendous time for me. Firstly I got into a freak accident. My left finger got stuck in an aircraft door. So it won't be able to feel and work as per normal again. It got crushed and now I am at home recuperating. Secondly, I recently had a death in a family. So it's kindda sad but life gotta go on right? Other than that, it's all ok and cool....pass me a beer will ya? hahahaha....

What is the latest update for Demisor now? Ive heard that youre gonna have changed for a new drummer. What happened?
*** Well as usual, Demisor is plague with a "drummers curse". It's a problem since day 1 and it seems that we have not been able to lift up the "curse".... Sad but true. Lan has left us. He just wanna concentrate more on his family and future. So he has to bid us goodbye to meet his aims and we in the noisecamp wish him all the best on it. So now I am counting on a pal whom used to hang out with me a while back. His name is Halim. He is much more into the Black Metal drumming but I do hope he can change his style to fit into Demisor's grinding attack...

If Im not mistaken Manila is the last tour you have done outside Singapore. Lets reminiscing the tour even its quite a year old already. What can you say about the tour and our local scene here?
*** The tour was pretty well organized! It's always great when you have a bunch of people that really takes care of everything. I do have loads of fun there. Demisor did have a jolly great time and make tons of new friends. It's the friendship that we want and we definitely saw GREAT CRAZY MANIACS at the gig! The Pinoy scene is one of the strongest scene that I have ever seen. With such warm hospitality and tolerance towards other music genre, it's definitely an ideal scene for me. Well you guys have the first punk scene in the whole of South East Asia right? Demisor is so honored to taste a part of the LEGENDARY PINOY UNDERGROUND SCENE.......

Even I know that the band have been stayed here only for one day, but can you differentiate our scene to other places have you been played and hanged out already outside Singapore?
*** Well like I said earlier, you guys just have the most ideal scene for an underground maniac. Pinoy scenes have the same scene as like I Indonesia and Borneo Sabah. Very warm and accommodating but beneath all the sweetness and friendliness lies an enormous amount of chaos and aggression that you guys will show it on the gig. NOW THAT WHAT WE WANT....."CHAOS AND AGGRESSION".....yeah!!!!!!!!!!! It will be lame if there weren't any of these 2 elements at a gig but I definitely can see all these in Philippines....how lovely!!!!!!

By the way, can you tell us more about DEMISOR for the knowledge of people who dont know yet your band?
*** Well we are lazy grinding maniacs that came from Singapore. Band started out in 1987 and has recorded several split ep's and split tapes. Well as you all must know, we DON"T have an album yet. All this takes too much of our time and partly due to our lack of commitments and laziness. So that's why we are still "album-less" despite being in the scene for so long. We do have an offer to do full length by several labels but we have to turn them down as we don't have the time and capabilities to do so. It's so time consuming.... and being lazy maniacs, our brain starts to freeze upon hearing of another recording project....hahahaha...We have toured Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and recently Philippines. So it does open our eyes and our throats as well (I love your cheap beers!!!!!!!) to get more exposure to other parts of the world and deliver our grinding mayhem to all. Well, now the noisecamp consist of 4 lazy maniacs and they are Fahmy(vocals), Ed(guitars), Sham Black(bass) and Halim(drums)...How's that for the intro kuya?...hahahaha

Hows the band now after a couple of years past by compare to the new line up and music of DEMISOR? And also Im surprised to hear that Amirul is not in the band anymore. Can you tell us some short info what happened?
*** The band now is pretty stable. Only I left as the old maniac and the rest are new regurgitator for the Demisor noisecamp. The only comparison of the old maniacs and the new regurgitators are that the new regurgitators are more open minded in other genre of music and also kindda young. Still I do respect the old Demisorians as they are more dedicated and have more ideas on how grindcore songs should be. Well everyone have their own opinion but truly this is my opinion.

What about your local scene there in Singapore, hows your scene there mostly grind/gore scene? What can you say about some new sprouting bands into grind?
*** Well as per normal, the scene here is pretty small. I have been living here for the past 30 years and been involved in music arena for the past 17 years. All I could say is that "old school" rules. In those dark ages during the late 80's is truly the best time in being an underground maniac here in Singapore. Those days are lot more fun because it's more like a helping hand community. Everyone respect each other genre and thus the support was always there compared to now. I do feel a sense of competition and backstabbing now compared to the good old days. Well the only worth band mentioning about the scene is Flesh Disgorged, Arbitrary Element, Secret 7, Distrust, Desolation, Nympholepsy and a few more which I forgot. All of these bands do have the potential to go far and I do have the confidence in these bands. In fact it's about time for the world to explore on these bands mentioned rather than to know that only Demisor hails from Singapore. It's too pressurizing for me actually that everyone is focusing on Demisor....errr...any girls wanna help me "release" some pressure? ....hahahahaha....

Ive heard already your advanced tracks you have distributed here in the Philippines (the sounds is good!) and you got two releases on that cdr. Could you tell us more about this like your split cd with 2 Chinese bands and your split 7 with GORE BEYOND NECROPSY? Is it out already? Hows your relations to this said bands you have been split with and who makes the idea of this?
*** Well thanx for the comments and I do hope other maniacs in Philippines can get that stuffs. The split with the 2 Chinese bands are actually done by Yang Yu under Mort Productions. He is kind enough to let us be under Mort Prod. It's actually Memeng who does all the deals and as per normal being the lazy monkey. I wouldn't wanna know about all that was being done during that time. So now it's best to ask Memeng on it...Just hang on while I call him.................................Sorry! No answer from his hand phone...Busy I guess....Maybe I will answer this question again the next time you interview me again....hahahahaha...Regarding the split with GxBxN...hmmmm...I'm actually still waiting for it too. It's way too long now and a lot of our contacts are constantly asking me about it......another pressure for me...aaaarrrgghhhhh....KUYA!!!!!...SEND SOME LADIES WILL YA?.....I NEED TO DE-PRESSURIZE...hehehehe (KUYA means big brother or older brother)

Do you have any plan again to tour/come back here in the Philippines? If is it yes or no, why?
*** OF COURSE YES BRO!!!!!! I have already made some plans to grind Philippines again. This time it's really gonna be a fucking grind massacre.....errrr.....more massacre will be on the bed.....hahahaha.....But I do promise you that if anyone willing to accommodate Demisor, we will bring in extra pom pom girls for our set and set all adrenaline high when we play.....

Durian is food, Grind is good 4 way split tape project is released by Grin-Konrr Records. And Demisor is included on this project. Could you tell us more about this and is Grin-Konrr records are owned by a band?
*** Well actually that label is owned by Fadhil(muzikboxx prod) and Memeng(old guitarist). Their aim is to release some unsigned bands in Asia. It's a collaboration between these 2 guys. All I know is that both of them are kindda busy with their own business and life but do get in touch with them. Who knows that they have other releases that I am not aware of? It's way underground dude....

If Im not mistaken I noticed that most of the releases done in Singapore are cassettes tape format. Why? Its because it easy to produced and has a cheapest pressing plant there or any reason for that?
*** Hmmmm....I wouldn't know why but I guess it's much cheaper I think. During then it's the most available format of play. I guess now it's more on cd's and cd-r....but vinyl still rules bro!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think until when DEMISOR will exist in the scene and any expectation we will wait for the future of DEMISOR? Because you lost Amirul and then ive heard your drummer.
*** Well so long as my I can overcome my sense of laziness. I believe Demisor will be on the scene for a very LONG..... LONG time. Demisor have endured so much in the past. Be it bad or good, I would still continue the legacy. It's sad that most of the key players are not around with me and a lot of my critics say that Demisor won't last long. Such words brings me to a new dimension indeed....A dimension to STOP BEING A FUCKIN LAZY PIG AND CARRY ON GRINDING THE SCENE WITH AGGRESSION AND PURE BRUTALITY......All these word are like a challenge to me. To all those whom know us and still do continue to support us....WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN US......Anyway, the split cd with Italian goregrinders Bestial Devastation will be out soon on Scrotum juice rec. It does gonna be a GRIND experience you won't forget...Imagine Led Zeppelin and Terrorizer together! ....It's a way of me expressing my "other" side on this recording. The elements of 60's ROCK and the whirlwind GRINDCORE added.....Psychotic trauma experience...So just get ready for a new breed of Demisor.........

Last Feb Ingrowing tour is organized in Singapore. Are you involved on this event? What can you say about the band and to Curby?
*** Oh yes! I'm the organizer for their show in Singapore. It's a cool gig and I'm glad that it all went smoothly. Ingrowing FUCKIN' RULES!!!!!!!! Hyperspeed drums, great guitar works, smooth fondles of bass and guttural vocals makes my day alive.....They are very talented and very friendly guys! Curby is of course the main course of a 19 set dinner....hahaha...He is the main man behind Ingrowing and the most sober maniac that I ever seen (Yo Curby! Sent me a pic of you wearing that "gay" t shirt...hahahah)...He is a TREMENDOUS guy...Life couldn't be better without him...Honest!!!!...I'm not bragging or what but I have seen them face to face and they ROCK MY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

What do you know about the Philippines? (Usual questions but Im curious?)
*** Great people, cheap beers, lotsa nice looking girls, cool videoke, nice historical site and history, fucking crazy traffic jams(Manila only...I don't know the rest) and the most important thing of all......PHILIPPINES HAVE A GREAT UNDERGROUND SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SALUTE FROM DEMISOR NOISECAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have any plan to hire any web master to up your website or is there already any plans to come coz your site is quite down since long time ago already.
*** I do know about the problems regarding our website. It's been closed down by Memeng as he is no longer involved in Demisor. Due to the fact that he is the ONLY one in Demisor who really KNOWS about IT. As for me...I KNOW NOTHING about IT....hahaha...Anyway I'm slowly picking up where I left and been trying hard to learn more about the computer and stuffs! I do have someone who is doing Demisor new website. It's almost done now. Only a few more touch up and a few more pictures of scantily clad women to be uploading left....hahaha....Well just wait for the new site. It's weirder and more GRIND........

Ok dude, any last words you would like to say and comments. Thanks for your time to answer this.
*** Well I would like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to you Joselito for patiently waiting for this interview to be replied and have interest in us. To all the maniacs that have supported Demisor in Philippines.....THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...And to all those who are reading this interview..."Have a nice day please stop fondling yourself with a sandpaper"......Write to me or send any love matter problems to [email protected].. I will try to help if I can.....hihihihi..errrrr.....Pass me a bottle of San Miguel will ya Jose? ....hahahaha.....TAKE CARE and GOD BLESS ASIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
