Yes!

10. Which do you prefer? Commercial SDs (such as Kyon customised dolls) or Customizing your own SD?
I'd prefer to customize my dolls. I'll probably always have an idea in my mind of what they want to look like.

11. How do you feel about Commercial SDs?
Really depends on the doll, but I enjoy an original look.

12. Did you create a personality/background for your doll(s)? If so, describe them!

13. What type of relationship do you have with your doll (ex. beloved daughter, friend)?
They're kind of like my housemates - they're not kids, and they are my friends, but there's a more intimate side to it. I definitely don't know what they're thinking all the time, so they're not really my toys. It's complicated, but many doll owners probably know what I'm saying. I do commonly refer to them as "the boys" or "the kids."

14. Does your SD have a nickname?
Lazlo is "Laz" though if I'm being cutsey he has been known to be called "LazBaz" or "Bazlo." I do it just to bother him ^^;;

15. What special meaning does your doll's name have?
Lazlo comes from the Hungarian Vladislav, meaning "to rule with glory", derived from the Slavic elements volod "rule" and slav "glory". More than anything the name sounds like him.

16. Does your SD have a special seat/place in your room? If so, where?
He goes where I am (which in a dorm room, isn't that hard.) Often he's reclining on my pillows unless I'm sleeping, in which case he chills out on my desk.

17. Did you buy a chair specifically for your SD?
No, he takes over my blue suede computer chair quite often enough.

18. Does your SD have accessories of her own? (ex. pets, toys, hairbrush)
Yes, all of the above! Not to mention a rediculous amount of clothes.

19. What hard to find items do you wish you could get for your doll?
More gothic-y or v-kei things, really modern and "street" clothes - just really detailed outfits. I'm a sucker for complexity.

20. What is the most expensive thing you've bought for your doll?
Besides the doll itself, I've spent a lot getting shoes...and wigs.

21. When you go out, do you take your doll with you?
Certainly not everywhere, but I do take them out for photo shoots, or to places like the flea market, gardens, around school, etc.

22. If so, where have you taken your doll?
Katsucon 2005 (and soon 2006), Animazement 2005, Duke Gardens, Sweet Briar College, UNC-Chapel Hill.

23. Is there a regular place you take your doll out to?
No, if I'm not at school I'm at work, so I'm not really a "regular" anywhere.

24. If you do take your doll out of the house, how do you carry him? (ex. SD violin case, backpack,etc)
I have a bag from Avon I got as a gift that just happened to be the perfect size for a doll and clothes.

25. When you do take your doll out, is it easy to do or do you find it's more trouble than it's worth?
Nah, it's worth it to have him along. He's not hard to carry and most people like him.

26. Does your doll have a friend? Do you think your doll wants a friend?
He has a MANY! ^^ Locksley's Duke is a friend and Janne is one of his "aunts" along with Zalem and Sara. Aie is practically his mom. Ukyou and Laz get along pretty well, and I've heard that Leechy's Sakaki and Laz had a little fling while he was in Denmark visiting! But now he's settled down, and seems to be happy with his "family" - Leech's boys Nana and Tsuki (and soon to be Hasu.)

27. If you could build your dream FCS for free, what would it be?
I'm not sure - there are so many I like. 16, 17, the new heads, and school A and the new school head boy.

28. What is your favorite optional head?
f-20 I think??

29. What is your least favorite optional head?
The one with the giant crooked eyes. I'm not a big fan of the "sleepers" either.

30. What type of fantasy head would you like to see produced?
Definitely a 13-sized dragon boy, and some kind of visual kei-type makeup and wig job.

31. What is your favorite wig for your doll?
Lazlo looks good in a long Leeke wig with swept back bangs partially covering his right eye. We're working on branching his style out, but he will always be in black.

32. What made you choose your SD out of all the various types?
I was looking to replace Laz's old shell (a Rasendo Touya) and the face that called out to me, the one that said "I am Lazlo" was the Kohya. I'm so happy I made the change, I can "feel" Laz's character so much better in the Kohya shell than I ever could before.

33. Do you change your SD's wig often and have you tried styling the wigs?
I change it depending on our moods, and I love styling with a bit of water.

34. How many wigs do you have?
2 at the moment, but working on that one.

35. How many shoes do you have for your doll? Does your doll have socks too?
2 as well here...Kohya boots and a pair of Anotherspace creepers. He does have socks, but they're the thigh-high kind XD

36. What types of clothing does your doll wear? (name in order of favorite styles)
Jrock/Vkei, goth, punk, street, gothic aristocrat.

37. Where do you purchase your SD clothing?
Here and there really...eBay, Den of Angels, personal clothing websites, Y!J, doll sites.

38. Do you sew clothing for your doll?
Yes, but I liken it to a child scribbling with a crayon as compared to a master's painting.

39. Do you plan on dressing your doll as an anime character? If so, who?
No, but I hope to dress them somewhat like characters from books I've read.

I've made small things like shirts and jewelry.

No, but if I ever woke up one morning and became a great seamstress I'd open up shop.

Yes, I've been learning for years now XD

Nah, we're a real versatile bunch.

Oh gosh, I'd LOVE to work in a doll shop, but unfortunately Vet school and owning my own business just don't go together.

No, they go where I go, but hang out a lot in my room.

Almost a year. I wrote them off at first because of college and lack of money, but I just kept coming back to them and wanting one, so I started saving...

Yes, I love having them around me.

Well in my dorm room my boy loves to sit on the desk and watch me do homework or look for clothes or friends for him online :)

Aside from the crazy people who say it's weird or creepy, I get a lot of "cool" and "beautiful"

Yeah, they're such spoiled children ^.^

purple-blue or gray for Laz. He needs dark, subtly colored eyes.

Not often once we settle on a style.

He has an essence...he's like an ancient rock - timeless and full of knowledge in a silent and powerful way. Yes, he has a soul...their souls stay with me even if their bodies leave.

Surprisingly he rarely uses my name.

Well one just understands that I like them, and one thinks that they're a bit creepy and crazy but really likes it that I have a hobby I enjoy.

I never was big on dolls, Barbies were only good to ride my model horses and to get gored by the plastic dinosaurs. I didn't have a favorite toy, but I had my favorite stuffed animal, a flat "clown" named stuffy.

60. Did you have to sell items from a personal collection to raise money to purchase your doll?
Yes

61. If so, what did you sell?
My two Blythe dolls, Chi Chi and Rory (A Tea for Two and a Rouge Noir) plus my extra anime DVD's lots of stuff lying around that I didn't NEED.

62. How much do you spend on your doll a month? What is the maximum you would spend?
It depends on my income. I have a lot more to spend during the summer.

63. Have you purchased something you regretted later?
Sort of, I don't regret buying the FCS MSD, but I sort of do. It was a good learning experience. I'll buy another FCS, just not the same one. He didn't *quite* fit in.

64. Do you like buying clothing sets for your doll?
Yes! It's better than shopping for myself!

65. How often do you change your dolls clothing?
Depending on our mood, it can be daily, hourly, or weekly!

66. If you could take your doll anywhere with you in the world, where would that be?
To either the West Coast of the US to meet more dollfie fans, to Singapore or to a dollpa in Japan!

67. Have you ever done something to your SD and felt bad about it? (ex. leaving her naked all night, dropping her)
Yeah Laz's first shell needed a lot of work, and it seemed like I was better at messing him up than fixing him. Poor guy.

68. What paint brand do you use on your doll?
Don't use paint.

69. If you were stranded on a deserted island with your doll, what 3 things would you want for your doll to have?
a cleaning sponge, a trunk full of clothes and waterproof cameras!

70. Does your doll have a girlfriend/boyfriend?
Yes, Laz is pretty serious with Leech's Nanashi. (El) He's had a lot of past/present relationships though, including Leechy's Sakaki and my Tiriel.

71. Does your doll have siblings (ex. brother/sister)?
Um, not that are mentioned.

72. Will you pierce your doll's ears?
Probably, at least glue an earring on.

Not yet, but I want to use this reverse coloring technique to give him realistic nails and fingers.

I wish Laz had come strung a bit tighter XD He was floppy like a rag doll at first.

Alishia's Aiden! (He's hot stuff!) Actually, any of the beautiful BJD's out there - we'd be honored to know them all.

I tell myself that I'm not, but I probably will XD

I'd like an MSD - maybe a Hewitt. I'd also like to bring Tiriel home (again) at some point.

No, not if it's a custom job.

Black and White for Laz. He will be caught in dark blue once in a while.

Dark and decadent. Goth aristocrat. (Laz)

Anything intricate, not too much leather.

A mature yet gentle looking boy with a slim face (not like Yukinojo though)

No, Laz was my first though.

Anotherspace...CH things.

Life would have been easier if when I got Laz's first shell I had just waited and gotten a full Luts doll instead of buying a seperate head and body. I regret that, and all the work I've had to put into it, but that's about all.

93. Do any of your friends own SDs?
I have friends I've met THROUGH BJD's, but nobody I've converted :P

94. Do you have SD get togethers?
I go to them, not host them XD

95. Have you lied about the true cost of your SD to your family or friends?
No, they'll probably be more cautious with them if they know how much they cost me. Plus I had to save it all and I don't see a reason to lie to them. They've been in on this since the start.

96. Do you think of yourself as being obsessive about your SD? If so, explain?
Yeah...it's an obsession...it's gone way past a hobby!

97. If the house was on fire, what would you grab first? Your SD, wallet, clothes or no time and save yourself?
Leave the wallet and clothes, I'm going for my SD!

No, haha, both my dad and I work at a camera store so we've had digital cameras as long as they've been around *laugh*

Um...I guess I'd ask first if Sam wanted them since he's closest to me, if not I'd let Aie or Sara or someone have them.

I'm no fortune teller, but as long as I'm happy with him now, then I have nothing to worry about.
