Although Hayden in featured in the general 'boys' section, I thought him deserving of more time and space.

Now, Hayden is twenty-two. But what I find weird is that he went from the role of Jake Hill Conley in The Virgin Suicides, where he looks cute but quite young (he would have been seventeen/eighteen), to Sam Monroe in Life As A House (age twenty) where he has transformed in to a gorgeous, very datable guy. Has anyone else noticed how, when boys go through puberty, it seems like they grow at least two feet and start to look manly overnight?

So anyway, Hayden Christensen seems different to many of the other young actors that fill our screens at the moment. You rarely hear anything about his love life, you don't hear stories of partying or drinking in the tabloids. All of this mystery is perhaps part of the appeal (or else Hayden never goes out and is in fact really boring not that it really matters either way).

I have seen Hayden in The Virgin Suicides, Life As A House and Star Wars: Episode Two (I was gutted that I didn't get to see him in This Is Our Youth here in London). His performances always seem serious - as if the decision of whether or not to be a part of a project was a very important and carefully considered one. His roles suggest professionalism and integrity. I loved Life As A House. Hayden provided a raw, emotional Sam - he was fantastic. He has this element to his voice, as if it's going to break at any moment because his emotions are too much for him to control (maybe I read too much in to things). Anyway, Hayden is cool (and pretty damn gorgeous too!) 1
