"What Happens at Mardi Gras Stays at Mardi Gras":  Enjoy a taste of New Orleans at American Southwest Theatre Company's second annual Mardi Gras fundraiser at  the NMSU Golf Course Clubhouse banquet room on Friday, Feb. 6 from 7 - 11 p.m. Includes hors d'oeuvres, desserts, cash bar, dancing to cajun and contemporry music, a magician, and a fortune teller.A live auction of works by local artists including Stephen Hansen, Peggy Brown, and more. All proceeds benefit ASTC's programs. Tickets are $30 each or two for $55 and may be purchased at the Hershel Zohn Theatre Box Office, the Pan Am Ticket Office or from any ASTC board member.

Sat., Feb. 7, from 1 - 4 p.m. A reception for artists Jean McLaughlin Cowie and Patricie Gould with Peggy Brown. Exhibit continues through Sat. Feb. 28. Located at 905 N. Mesquite. 575-635-2285.

"Love Letters": Enjoy Valentine's Day with two performances of this annual performance at the Black Box Theatre starring David Edwards and Cindy Murrell. Martha Randall Brown watercolor demonstration: Sat., Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. - noon, the artist will offer her watercolors and mixed media creations for sale and show how she creates her work. At the Unsettled Gallery at 905 N. Mesquite. 635-2285.

World premiere of "Pixie" at the American Southwest Theatre Company: Terrence accidentally kills Pixie, a small dog, and suddenly his life begins to unravel thanks to the press and his fragile sanity... Opens February 20 and runs through March 8.Performances are 7 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Performed at NMSU Theatre Arts.

New Horizons Symphony Orchestra Concert: A free full-length concert will feature Marianna Gabbi and Gordon Butler playing a Vivaldi concerto. Other soloists will be featured with either the full orchestra or string accompaniment, plus some numbers by the orchestra. February 21 at 3 p.m. at the Addison Center at NMSU.

Studio tour demonstrations at the Unsettled Gallery: Sat., Feb. 21
Lois Smith demonstrates gelatin plate printing from 10 a.m. - noon and Donald Brenner will demonstrate the Bromoil process from 1 - 4 p.m. On Sunday, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Ric Rao will demonstrate basket weaving.

Reception for watercolorist Donna Wood: Thursday, Feb. 26, from 4 - 6  p.m. at C.R. Blossoms. Located at 1615 North Solano Drive, Suite D, in Las Cruces.
