Art Gallery Links to Member Sites Education Past meetings Love of Art Month
For the Love of Lit: New this year, an event to celebrate the literary arts. At the Branigan Cultural Center, 500 N. Water Street, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Local authors of poetry and prose will read from their works and published authors will offer their books for sale. Dr. Wayne Crawford is the emcee.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
10 - 10:30: Bud Russo, Matt Meyers, Linda Jacobs, Gwendolyn Mintz, Ann Sellemi; 10:30 - 11: Sheila Black, Joann Townsend, Ellen Roberts Young, Kay Nation, Bob Sanchez; 11 - 11:30: Susan Rivera, Joe Somoza, John Duncklee, Pam Hunt, Sue Miller; 11:30 - noon: Robert Proctor, Floydd, Dick Thomas, Noreen Lehmann, Diane Walker; noon - 12:30: L.C. Hayden, John Pate, Lawrence Welsh, Wayne Crawford.
ArtForms Member Show: Branigan Cultural Center, 500 N. Water St., Las Cruces. The show will feature work in many media from 51 ArtForms members. The gallery will be open Mon - Fri 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sat. 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Art Around the Town Venues: View art in locations, both expected and unexpected, all around town.
Photography exhibit: The works of Danny Wade and Patricia Cameron open with a wine and cheese reception during the first Friday Downtown Ramble at thetheatregallery at the BlackBox.
"For the Love of Birds & Blooms": A show of the Las Cruces Arts Assn. at the Branigan Library Terrace Room, runs through Feb. 27 library hours.
"My Masterpiece": A fun art contest where you try to identify the master whose work is being emulated by a local artist. At the Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery in Mesilla from Feb. 1 - 28.
New Mexico Watercolor Society Show: At the Tombaugh Gallery at the Unitarian Universalist Church.
