Piatigorsky Foundation Concerts

The
Piatigorsky Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to bringing world-class classical music to small communities around the country. For the third year, Las Cruces is honored to host artists from Piatigorsky. There are two concerts open to the public being performed by soprano Raquela Sheeran and pianist David Shimoni.

Sunday, February 8, at 1 p.m. at Good Samaritan Las Cruces Village
3025 Terrace Drive in the Auditorium

Tuesday, February 10, at 7 p.m. at the Rio Grande Theatre
211 N. Downtown Mall

For the Love of Lit - NEW EVENT!
Saturday, February 28 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Branigan Cultural Center, 500 N. Water Street

Writers of prose and poetry will read excerpts of their works from the stage and offer their published books for sale. This is a new event to incorporate literature into For the Love of Art Month. To participate, e-mail [email protected].

Las Cruces Friends of Chamber Music
Student Ensemble Concert


Student ensembles will perform after weeks of rehearsals and workshops with the
LCFCM. Free and open to the public.

Las Colcheras Quilt Guild President's Challenge
Branigan Cultural Center, 500 N. Water Street

The show of the Challenge, with the theme "Starry, Starry Night" opens Friday, February 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.during the Downtown Ramble. Hand-quilting demonstrations will be held Wednesday and Saturday mornings in February from 9 until noon. In addition, a drawing will be held for a quilt. Tickets will be sold during the opening and during demonstrations. The drawing will be held Saturday, February 28.

A show in many media opens with a reception on Friday, February 6, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The exhibit continues all month.
