�A day or two from now, Bladen�s going to ambush Adel again. Delsus is supposed to rush in and save him, then work his way into their group, being the double agent and all. But I didn�t tell you that. Especially so you could screw it up.�
�Of course you didn�t,� I say, folding my hands behind my head and stepping out onto the first floor, �Dakumi Yume wouldn�t betray the company�s plans for anything.� I glance back at him and smirk, I just can�t resist.
�Just blame it on one of your split personalities, Sekh.�
Dakumi just sighs exasperatedly, �Get out of here before I decide to stab you, would you?� With that, he tosses me my knife, and I stare at it as it lays in my palm, wondering how he did that. I glance back up and blink, noticing that Dakumi has disappeared and Azami now stands in his place.
�Yo, Harada,� the kid greets me with a grin and a wave, �I heard you tried to kill our dear wolf a few minutes ago.�
Let me explain something about Azami: he�s like Dakumi and Himeko�s lovechild. He has Dakumi�s ability to appear and disappear without warning and, like Himeko, there isn�t anything he doesn�t know that goes on here. Except, unlike Himeko, his knowledge extends back to everything that�s happened since the company even officially began and he�s only been here two years. He�s supposed to be Delsus� partner, yet he�s a better spy than Himeko is.
But he also knows how to keep a secret, so we don�t really mind that he knows almost more about ourselves than we do, no matter how creepy it may be.
�Why yes, I did,� I confirm, mirroring his grin, �you stick around for the aftermath?�
�Nah,� he waves a hand dismissively, �Taijou decided to, ah, �deal� with him in a certain way, and I don�t need that image in my mind.� There�s a brief silence in which we both try to ignore the implication of what he said, and I decide to change the subject.
�Na, Azami, you know where they�re going, don�t you?�
�Of course I do,� he says, knowing full well I was talking about Delsus and Bladen�s ambush of Adel and looking offended, �but�I can�t tell you for free, even though you�re my favorite.�
�I�ll give Tao obvious hints and a smack upside the head.� Azami loves me, but has the decency to realize that Adel�s the only one for me and has �backed off officially,� as he put it. Now he�s set his sights on Tao, who�s completely oblivious. Unlike Tai, who�s rather intuitive of other�s feelings, Tao would only realize it if Azami tattooed �I love you� on his forehead.
�Good enough for me,� Azami tells me with a nod, �okay, so, obviously they can�t just do this in the open. They�re using you, or your name rather, to lure him to that graveyard. Then I�d imagine Bladen would mess with him a bit before Delsus rushes in playing the hero.�
�I owe you one,� I say, turning to leave with a wave of my hand, �and don�t worry, I won�t harm your partner.�
�Yea, unless he �harms� you first, right?� He shakes his head slightly and sighs, though he still has a smile, �Take care, I�ll be on standby to distract him if you need me.�
�Thanks, Az, you�re the best.�
�I know.�
With that I headed out of the double glass doors, and glanced back once more. Azami�s already gone. I can�t help but smile�that�s my boy.
