The North Middle School Band programs consists of 270 students in grades 6 through 8. These students participate in 6th, 7th grade and 8th grade concert band. North also has 2 jazz ensembles, and a pep band.
The North Band has recieved distinguished ratings at the Kentucky Music Educators Concert Band Festivals for 24 consecutive years. The band received superior ratings at the Kings Island Concert Band Festival in 87, 89, 90, and 92. The band recieved a superior rating at the Six Flags Over Mid-Anerica Festival in 1991. Under the direction of Ms. Diane Embry, the North Junior High School Band performed at the Mid West Band and Orchestra Clinic in 1992. The band has been invited to perform at the KMEA In-Service Conference in 85, 88, 91 & 97. Other honors include "The Judges Choice Award" at the Music In the Parks Band Festival in 1999.
