| At the end of the year, the band will recognize those students who go beyond the call of duty and achieve a higher level of musicianship and musicial appreciation. Certificates will be given to all students who reach the MERIT GOAL. The top student in each grade will receive a special merit plaque. The top winner of all three grades will receive a special merit trophy. MERIT GOAL: 1000 points Merits can be earned for any of the following: Wearing a band t-shirt to school 10 points Practice time (1 point for each minute) ? points Trying out for all-district band 50 points Participating in Solo and Ensemble 50 points * Attending extra concerts, contest, musicals, etc 25 points * Watching the high school marching band perform 10 points * Performing at church or another social gathering 25 points *Taking private lessons on your instruement 10 points (per lesson) Completing one of the project assignments on the "Portfolio Projects" list 30 points Presenting your project in class 30 points Other music things...... ? points * The merit points earned for these items require a noth from you parent/guardian. |
