Qubec Trip Poem
By Josh Lasky

With smiling faces, excited and gitty
We boarded the bus to Quebec City

Those governors scholars from Ramapo College
So good looking, witty, and full of knowledge

Grabbed a sack breakfast and took a seat
With plenty of bagels and apples to eat

And so for hours we sat and squirmed
And when we got to the border, we learned

A certain item had been left behind
And so to Ida we waved goodbye

But in a few days, shed be back
To head team Egypt and rejoin the pack

As for the rest, we arrived by night
Made our way to the hostel and flipped on the light

Perhaps too optimistic but to our dismay
Four beds in a closet was where we would stay

Then the next day we went on a tour
After buying our souvenirs, we were all very poor

Later we eventually found University Laval
For a lecture so interesting that I did fall

Asleep but luckily next was the Quebec 3D show
I enjoyed it except for getting wet in the second row

The next day the Citadel was on the agenda
With house-sized cannons prepared to defend ya

Next on the list was our Parliament visit
I stole a few pamphlets, Im glad we didnt miss it

Now let me speak of the St. Lawrence cruise
It was a little bit more than just listening to the blues

With techno, hip-hop, and freak dancing galore
Even the RTAs were left wanting more

Speaking of RTAs, there was a certain one
It seemed as though while dancing Joe had a bit too much fun

The next day we visited the Huron tribe
While in the village we felt the cultural vibe

St. Annes Basilica really was fine
Except for those who got stuck waiting in line,

For hours we waited how could we stay mellow?
Since the only decent food was multi-colored jello

When we came back to the bus that day
We were dressed up in costumes to put on a play?

Seeing Brian as a fur trader was genuinely funny
Especially as he considered taking Christian as his honey

Later with the Folk Troupe, we sang and danced,
And if toward the porch you chose to glance

You would have seen a small group bouncing and clapping
Thats because we were freestyle rapping

The museum was where we went the next day
We saw plenty of sexy shoes that were on display

Our final dinner was at the Sugarshack that evening
If you go there, you better like maple syrup, believe me

On that last night we went out on the town
While strolling the streets no one bore a frown

Sadly the nest day it was time to go home
And I will try to wrap up this poem

Je me souviens I will remember
Long after I return to school in September

My trip to Quebec will make me smile
Along with the Governors Scholars that made it so worthwhile.
