Benefits of Prenatal Education:

- Offers information and resources to encourage the pregnant woman to make informed choices
and decisions. Increases knowledge and awareness of the risks and benefits of her choices.
- Offers opportunity to socialize with other expectant women and to form support networks.
- Broaden awareness and insight of other's views of birth and parenting
- Promote control of labour and birth process by increasing familiarity and knowledge
- Promote awareness of support and services available in the community


Prenatal education promotes wellness and the prevention of illness by
providing the knowledge and support for the expectant woman and support
person to maintain or enhance their own and their baby's physical and
emotional health throughout the prenatal period
