Fanfic FAQ
I have created this page in hopes of answering some questions that have been raised about my fanfcition stories. Some of these questions have been asked by reviewers while others I have made made up myself. If you have any other questions that haven't been answered here, then ask me through a review or email me at [email protected]. If you decided to email, then please name the fanfic you have an inquiry about, so I can add it to this page so that other people who might have been wondering the same thing can see.
Can't Wash It Away FAQ
Why are there cheetahs? Where are the turtles?

Can't Wash It Away is a story which is based off the TMNT. This story is a crossover epic and the turtles simply haven't come into the story as of yet. Just be patient. All will be revealed in Chapter 9: The Book of Mutants.
How long do you plan this fic to be?

Good question. I've had this story in my head now for over five years, where it has grown to a ridiculous size. If I'm going to write it down, then I might as well include everything I want into it, right? Well that's what they're doing with the Lord Of The Rings trilogy! Actually I've finally decided to break the story down into three separate fanfics; Can't Wash It Away being Part 1. I've decided to do this as the fanfic will grow to such a size that no one with common sense would read it. With that said, Can't Wash It Away will be finishing shortly, and another fanfic will be created as a continuation (it will state that in the story description).
What on earth is a State Mutant?

To understand what a State Mutant is, we must first go to the beginning. I will try my best to make this as simple as possible.

Thousands of years ago, there were five dragons living in Japan. Their names were Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Venus. After they defeated their main enemy (another group of dragons), they needed help to create peace throughout the rest of the world. So Venus cast a spell, and the dragons made duplicates of themselves. So in every state around the world, there are five mutants by the names of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Venus.
For example: there would be five mutants in Washington, five mutants in Texas, five mutants in New York. Get it? These dulpicates are what we call State Mutants. For example: the cheetahs are the State Mutants of Lesotho, whilst our favourite turtles are the State Mutants of New York.

Another thing, if the duplicates are all fire-breathing, then they'd all have a weakness to water. So to solve this problem, the duplicates could be any animal (so they don't have a common weakness), which is why there can be cheetahs, leopards, turtles and other species as State Mutants.

Now it gets a bit more complicated. This duplicating spell was created thousands of years ago. Obviously all of the duplicates would die out with time (except for the dragons of Japan who can live on for thousands of years). So the State Mutants would have to be regenerated.
For example: Lets use the turtles, the State Mutants of New York. If Leo, Don, Mike, Raph and Venus all die, then within a year, the spell will be activated, and five more mutants with the same names will be born (though they won't necessarily be turtles. Might be a sewer cockroach or something). This is often referred to as destiny. Not all of them have to die for the spell/destiny to be activated. Only three of them have to pass away.

Yet the destiny way of regeneration can cause problems.
For example: Leo, Venus and Raph die, leaving Don and Mike. The destiny spell is activated and the next generation is born. Yet Don and Mike are still alive. Sometimes the previous State Mutants raise the new ones, and thus become their ninja master. So Mike might decide to train his new students in Ninjtsu.

The other way the next generation of State Mutants will be created is through breeding.
For example: Let's use the turtles once again. If Leo and Venus have children, then they might create the next generation of State Mutants. So if they produce five mutants; four boys, one girl, then they have created the next generation. Yet this won't always work. For instance, they might only have one child, therefore the next generation of State Mutants wasn't born.

Still confused? Then post a review or email me after rereading chapter 9.
What is a State Enemy?

A State Enemy is anything which decides to fight against to State Mutants. For example: If I, Ninjalara, decide to have a little ninja turtle hunting spree, then I will be called a State Enemy. Basically it is just a term that is used. Another example: Because Shredder is enemies with the turtles (State Mutants), then he would be clasified as a State Enemy.

Also, State Enemies do not regenerate unlike the State Mutants. So when Shredder is killed, then the turtles won't have an enemy, unless they make a new one somewhere down the road. Or, if the cheetahs destory Shere Khan, then they're not going to have any enemies. Refer to chapter 9 for more information.
What is the 'Book of Mutants'?

The 'Book of Mutants' is simply a book which contains basically a listing of all the State Mutants in the world. Every four years, a group of State Mutants travels round the globe and checks up on everyone else, just in case something has gone horribly wrong. At the end of their trip the State Mutants hand the book over to another group so the responsibility is shared. They also have to meet up with the dragons, so the dragons can inform them on what groups they are concerned about, and what group they are to pass the book over to. For more information, refer to chapter 9.
Who is Saringai's master?

Heh, I'm not going to say who Saringai's master is, because if I decide to have a sequel, it will be discovered then. :o)
How does Galileo know Venus? What happened in her past?

All will be revealed in Part 3.
What happened to Rachel?

Unfortunately the only person who knows is Sebastian, and we all know what happened to him... well that is if you have read up to chapetr 20 yet! But we can be certain that this question will haunt Raphael for the rest of his life.
