Faith Anjou

Faith Anjou was just seventeen when her parents were murdered. One by the Forty, the other by the Kindred. And for the three years since then, she has been a vampire hunter, a valued scientist, and a national target by both human and demonic corporations.

Faith Anjou is the only daughter of renowned scientist Cyril Anjou. Her Mother was Gracielle Dejardain Anjou, a native New Yorker and good friend of Arnand Jacobs. She was also a quite remarkable slayer of vampires and demons. Faith's Father experimented heavily with DNA and genetics, and had made startling discoveries as the time of his death grew near. To the scientific community he was a genius, and his lovely daughter was aching to follow in his footsteps.

But Cyril was also known in the Kindred World. The influence of his wife's "job" and his own curiosity tempted him to begin DNA experiments with various inhuman creatures, some of which included vampires. Husband and wife worked together many times, and Cyril developed a strain of blood that could be injected into a human, giving them inhuman strength and healing capabilities. His first test subjects, and a very willing ones, were his own wife and son, Gracielle and Deric. The positive effects were unparalled, and the Kindred were faced with a new threat. A human that, for all appearances, seemed to be one of their own. But the serum had terrible side-effects, the most horrendus of which included a deadly lust for carnage which would set in if the serum stayed in the system longer than a few hours. If given too much of the serum, one could very possible turn themselves into the demon from which the blood was extracted. These experiments were not looked upon favorably by the Forty, most of all Arnand, who happened to be a very good friend and brother to Gracielle. A betrayer in the Forty revealed the maker of this new serum, and it was just hours until Gracielle was murdered in her home in New York. It took a few more days for word to reach Cyril that his wife had been murdered, and only hours after that, he was working furiously to complete the serum despite the terrible pain his heart was in. Faith worked alongside him. When dusk approached in their Paris estate, Cyril tried to force his daughter from his side, but Faith would not budge. Knowing that she would not leave except by force, he called his son Deric. Faith was forcefully carried from the house by her older brother, kicking and screaming and crying. No more than an hour later and Cyril was dead, burned to death in his own lab. Faith mourned terribly, listless for a month after that event, as Deric raced them through Europe with Kindred looking for them in every province.

It was another three months before Deric thought it remotely safe to settle somewhere, and by then, Faith had moved past her grief and into full blown anger. She trained with her brother in the lower depths of their Columbian villa, punishing herself with blow after blow, kick after kick, until she became as good as she could get. But it was not enough, and the grief that she had tried to beat back seemed to push farther into her life. Her Father's unfinished work haunted her. So, she again took up her petri dish and lens, and continued her Father's work from memory. She completed the healing process, and in that time, also developed the serum and improved it. Her first test subject was herself. And after Deric found out, he took her place. But, while he went out every night with the serum flooding his veins, doing what their Mother died for, she found she did not want to be left out of it. Just like science, slaying was also her destiny.

Her brother may not have been pleased at first, but he soon realized that two heads were a far cry better than one. The two have managed to keep this new strain of serum a secret.

Faith still feels the loss of her parents very deeply, and her hatred towards the one who gave them up has dimmed, though she knows that her brother's has not. She is very close to her brother, and despite the fact that she kicks ass nightly beside him, she is quite helpless in other matters that do not directly relate to scientific study and experimentation, or slaying. She has a one-track mind.

Faith is petite, agile, and very beautiful. Fiercesome when angered, and playful when she is happy, Faith gives off no appearance of a Slayer, and definetly not a scientist. But she is no less devoted than her brother to ridding the world of the vampires and demons in the world, city by city if need be.
