HOW TO GET POKEMON CARDS

Let's Play! Continued
144p
Attach an energy card to a pokemon. Take an energy card from your hand and put it underneath a pokemon.
Play a trainer card. Take a trainer card from your hand, do what it says, and discard it.
Retreat your active pokemon. Switch your active pokemon with another from your bench. Some pokemon have a retreat coat in the bottom right hand corner. Discard the number of energies it says and retreat the pokemon.
Use a pokemon power. Some pokemon have a special pokemon Power they can use. Most of these you should use before you attack, but remember to read the text carefully!
3. Attack with your active pokemon. If you want to, you can attack with your active pokemon. You can only attack if you have the amount of energies attached as it says on the left of the attack. A pokemon can ONLY attack once per turn and ONLY the acctive pokemon can attack.
Other things you need to know
144p
Colorless energy. Any type of energy can go towards collorless energy requirments. But only energy of the apropriate kind counts toward energy requirments of that kind.
EXAMPLE: An attack says it needs 2 water energys and 1 colorless energy. To use that attack, you need 3 energies, 2 of which are water energies.
Damage. when you attack, read the attack you are using and do what it says. For every 10 damage a pokemon recieves put a damage counter on it. If a pokemon recieves damage equal or more than it's hit points, it's knocked out and whoever knocked the pokemon out draws a prize.
Weakness & resistance. Some pokemon have a weakness or restiance to pokemon of other types. A pokemon takes double damage from a pokemon it is weak aginst and 30 less damage from a pokemon it has a resistance to.
When a pokemon is knocked out. whenever one of your pokemon is knocked out you put it and any cards attached to it in your discard pile and your opponent draws a prize. Then you must replace your active pokemon with a new one. If both pokemon are knocked out at the same time, the person who'se tur it was repaces his/her pokemon last.
What happens after each player's turn
144p
After each player's turn, if one of anyone's active pokemon is poisoned it takes damage and if it is asleep or paralized it might recover.
Sleep,Confusion, Paralysis, & Poison
Some attacks cause pokemon to become asleep, confused, paralized, or poisoned. These things only happen to a benched pokemon, in fact if a pokemon goes to the bench it stops being those things. Evolving is the same way.
Asleep. If a pokemon is asleep, it can't atack or retreat. Turn it to the left to show it's asleep. after each player's turn, flip a coin. On heads, it wakes up, on tails, it's asleep again.
Confused. If a pokemon is confused , you have to flip a coin whenever you try to attack or retreat. Turn the card around to show it's asleep. When you try to make a confused pokemon retreat, first pay the retreat cost then flip a coin. Heads, you retreat, Tailes, you don't retreat and you can't try again till next turn. When you try to attack, flip a coin.If heads, you attack normally but on tailes, you do 20 damage to yourself.
Paralized. If your pokemon is paralized, it can't attack or retreat. turn it to the right yo show it is paralized. A paralized pokemon recovers after your oponent's next turn.
Poisoned. If your pokemon is poisoned, place a poison marker (anything that comes handy) on your pokemon to show it is poisoned. As long as it is poisoned, it takes 10 damage after each player's turn, ignoring weakness and restiance.

A pokemon can become poisoned and another codition but it cannot become paralized and confused, confused and asleep, or asleep and paralized.
