Vivid Chloraquine Effects (2/93)

I am in a house, looking out a large picture window. The house is located above a valley. The sky is deeply purple with ominous black clouds moving swiftly across it. Very loud thunder is heard and intensely bright glowing lightning is tearing through the clouds and striking the valley floor and some distant purple hillsides. I feel as if apocalyptic events are about to take place. My grandparents (some of whom are dead in real life) and aunts and uncles and parents enter the room. I suggest we go into the basement. Suddenly, we are climbing stairs to an attic instead. It is dark, but there's a shaft of light coming through the wood roof past the rafters, and I can see dust floating in this light. There are some dusty boxes in the corners of this attic, and I am feeling ashamed that I have not cleaned the attic. Then I hear the sound of bees buzzing somewhere in the attic, and once again I feel afraid. I fear that we will all get stung, and try to figure out how to kill the bees. This dream occured shortly after my arrival in Ecuador where I was planning on living for the next 2 years, and after taking my first dose of anti-malarial drug Chloraquine.

Big Snake! ( 7/21/96)

I was at my boyfriend's sister's house in the country, with my 7 month old son. Suddenly an incredibly large white snake with black/ brown stripes and spots appeared, and it was hissing at us. I took my big knife that I use to necropsy cows at the diagnostic lab where I work, and I cut it's head off. The force of the blow broke the knife blade. The snake's head was on the ground with its mouth open, showing huge dripping fangs. My boyfriend, his mom, and his sister both had a dream about a snake the same night. When we actually went to visit his sister, she told me that just that morning there was a copper head in the garden!
