THUS SPOKE ZARATHUSTRA
SECOND PART
1)Upon the Blessed Isles
-Z is resolving himself again to help reshape man into the Overman
    -God is a conjecture
         >consider God (as well as any other conjectures) but dont try to pursue it beyond the
            reach of your will
*ponder the idea of god, but dont actually try to create one
-in order to regain the innocence of youth, one must know and experience the pains and trials       of life
-Z is reshaping man as a hammer to stone
         >chips of rock flying off of man do not matter when perfecting the principal
         >within the stone sleeps the image of the overman
*you must chip away the rocky exterior to get to the principal
2)Pitying
-if you pity someone, keep it to yourself or do it from a distance
-it is better to feel joy and enjoy things
          >then you are less likely to attempt to hurt others through your pity
-when you help a sufferer, you hurt his pride
          >great indebtedness does not make men grateful
-an evil deed is better than pettiness
          >at least an evil deed is honest about itself being evil
-pity brings a heavy cloud to people
3)Priests
-though they are the enemy, do not attack this enemy
-they have been bound by the false virtues of their redeemer
          >because of this they have suffered
          >because of their suffering, they want to make everyone else suffer
-those who build their lives upon false virtues are eventually harmed by them
-the priests designate something as God or belonging to God if that thing is contrary to man
       and gives them great pain
-priests are as much followers as anyone else and cannot truly be called leaders
-it means nothing to try and prove yourself by enduring pain
     -that does not show truth
-truth shows itself by enduring through criticism and analysis
4)The Virtuous
-the virtuous want their virtues and virtuous acts to be rewarded by getting into heaven
          >getting paid for virtue
-there is no reward for virtue
          >virtue is not even its own reward
-bear open all the aspects and bases for your beliefs and your life
          >so that the truth can be separated from the fiction and the lies
-do not focus on the ideas of reward, punishment, retribution, revenge and justice
-focus on acting as it is appropriate to you
          >that you create and follow your own virtue
-virtue should be born out of yourself and be your own creation
          >not handed down and commanded to you
          >virtue should reflect yourself
5)The Rabble
     -Life is a well
          >the rabble poison and ruin the well
-some people turn away from or attack life because they are turning away from or attacking
      the rabble
-the rabble poison the language with their dirty pleasures
          >and the rulers higgle and haggle for power with the rabble
     -who is the rabble?
          >just know that we are supposed to rise above and away from the rabble
6)The Tarantulas
     -tarantulas speak of equality
         >but are secretly vengeful
         >and when the tarantula strikes out in revenge, it causes others to also seek revenge
-man should be delivered from revenge
-tarantulas strike out at all who they are not equal to
         >forcing equality through threats
         >repressed envy and desire for the power of those to whom the tarantulas are not equal
-mistrust all those who seek to mete out punishment
     -men are not equal
         >not everyone is equal to the overman
         >there is inequality
         >there is supposed to be inequality
7)The Famous Wise Men
-wise men serve the people and their superstitions
         >they do not serve the truth
-great leaders placate the masses by having the peoples cart drawn by a great wise man
-the true wise men, the real seekers of truth are found in the deserts
         >where there are no gods, where men are thirsty, lonely and violent
         >there is no safety in the desert
              *no safety net
*man must survive on his own, with his senses not dulled by a full stomach and slaked                 thirst
-it is ok to be a servant to the people/leaders if your service bears up those whom you serve
-to be comfortable in the shade of a desert oasis means you are complacent in your
       comfort
-the free-spirits and truth seekers thrive when walking in the desert and against the wind
