DEEP & SHALLOW WATER MULTIBEAM SYSTEM USED FOR BATHYMETRY
6042 V.7 PROCESSOR
RESON 8125 MULTIBEAM
The 6042 Version 7 software is designed to enable marine survey operators to monitor their progress and make critical decisions in real time to support their operations. Whether for pipeline placement, rock dumping, dredging control, or hydrographic survey operations, the Version 7 program provides the information required. Version 7 combines state-of-the art navigation processing with data collection and real-time processing for the SeaBat multibeam sonar systems and a wide range of support sensors. Numerous predefined windows are available to view collected and corrected multibeam data: raw and corrected profiles, navigation display with sonar coverage plot, and helmsman display. Many other data displays can be selected. The Version 7 program time tags all received sensor data to an accuracy of one millisecond, does geodesy transformations, and performs extensive real-time processing of the data. The software allows data editing and decimation in real time, enabling the generation of output data products soon after the completion of survey data collection.
The SeaBat 8125 is the first wide-sector, wide-band focused multibeam sonar ever to be deployed. Utilizing 240 dynamically focused receive beams, the system measures a 120º swath across the seafloor, detects the bottom, and delivers the measured ranges at a depth resolution of 6 mm. The backscatter intensity image is displayed in real time on the sonar display. The 8125 can be controlled through its native graphical user interface, or from a multibeam data collection system, such as SeaBat 6042 version 7. The system can be mounted on a survey vessel or deployed on an ROV at depths down to 1500 m (standard 600 m, 1500 m is an option). The high-speed data uplink is carried on a standard SeaBat copper cable for surface installation. A fiber-optical interface is available for ROV deployment. Two 8125 systems can be configured as a dual-headed system, with Option 011, and for complete control the SeaBat 6043 image fusion and controller merges the images of the two sonar heads into one.

RESON 8160 DEEP WATER SYSTEM
The SeaBat 8160 is a new addition to the 8100 series of multibeam echosounders. Operating at 50 kHz, the system ensonifies the whole swath in a single ping, generating 126 simultaneous high-resolution receive beams. The SeaBat 8160 transducer array is comprised of a linear receive and transmit array mounted together on a support base. The t-shaped array geometry provides the basis for a compact, high-resolution sonar which is easily installed for portable or hull mounts - a first for a high-resolution system in this frequency range. The system features a pitch-stabilized transmitter and, with the optional 6042 controller, a roll-compensated receiver. The SeaBat 8160 processor is compatible with other SeaBat sonar heads. It can be updated in minutes to accommodate future requirements, and features a user-friendly point-and-click interface.
