Vietnam
I had the opportunity to travel through Vietnam for a few weeks before returning to the States.  I visited (from north to south) Sapa in the hills, Hanoi the capital city, the beautiful Ha Long Bay, Hue the former capital, Danang, Hoi An (although I got sick here, so I saw a lot of the bathroom), and Nha Trang.  I had to leave Nha Trang unexpectedly, though, and didn't see much of Siagon (Ho Chi Mihn City) before I flew back to the States.

Although I wasn't in Vietnam for very long, I did have a chance to try two things.  One was banana pancakes.  Not just pancakes with bananas on them, but chunks of banana in pancakes.  They didn't help the structure of the pastry, that's for sure.  I didn't really like them, but there wasn't much choice for breakfast foods.  Another thing I tried was dog.  Yes.  I ate dog.  It was chewy like beef jerky.  That's all I remember.  I asked for the spicy "version."  I guess I didn't want to focus on the taste of the meat.
I hope you dog lovers don't hate me now.
