The final examination is an examination of all aspects of karate. For example, basic exercises, kata, kumite etc. Each candidate should achieve a minimum necessary level for the degree he/she pretends in each category. Candidate has not to show qualification only in one sphere and absence of qualification in others, i.e. candidate is strong in kumite but is weak in kata. Candidate should also be good mannered person who respects dojo etiquette and attends trainings regularly.


QUALIFICATION RULES

  1. Each candidate must be a member of I.O.G.K.F.
  2. Each candidate before attestation must pay qualification fee and fill attestation application.
  3. Each candidate who wants to take dan (black belt) exam must pay registration fee and fill dan registration application.
  4. If candidate fails dan exam registration fee will be returned.
  5. Invitations for all candidates who are allowed to get degree will be approved by Higaonna Sensei.
  6. Shodan (black belt 1st degree) owner's minimum age is 18. Students of 18 and below who have right to take a black belt exam will get Junior Shodan.

BELTS COLORS:

  1. ADULTS
    • 10 kyu - white, 1 stripe
    • 9 kyu - white, 2 stripes
    • 8 kyu - white, 3 stripes
    • 7 kyu - yellow
    • 6 kyu - yellow, 1 stripe
    • 5 kyu - green
    • 4 kyu - green, 1 stripe
    • 3 kyu - brown
    • 2 kyu - brown, 1 stripe
    • 1 kyu - brown, 2 stripes
  2. KIDS
    • 10 kyu - white, 1 stripe
    • 9 kyu - yellow
    • 8 kyu - orange
    • 7 kyu - green
    • 6 kyu - blue
    • 5 kyu - purple
    • 4 kyu - purple, 1 stripe
    • 3 kyu - brown
    • 2 kyu - brown, 1 stripe
    • 1 kyu - brown, 2 stripes
