Chapter Twenty~Two
While Nick packed, Elisha borrowed his dayplanner and
copied down the remaining tour dates, contact info,
Nick cell number and other important information. She
smiled to herself when she saw the scrap of paper that
she had written her phone number on for him when they
had first met. She carefully wrote her number down in
the address book and labelled herself "cute chickie
from Texas". "Let's see if that confuses him after a
few days on the road!" she laughed softly to herself.
She helped him finish his packing and then pulled him
down beside her on the bed. "Are you all done? Can I leave you something to remember me by now?" Nick looked quizzically at her. "I don't think I'll have any trouble remembering you!" Elisha pouted. "You mean you don't want to make love to me one last time before you go?" Nick blushed and started stammering. "Oh, I get you, um....yes, please, right now?" Elisha was on her knees. Nick pulled off her shirt and gently pushed her to a lying position. She lifted her hips so he could pull off her skirt and nylons. Elisha lay and admired him while he quickly removed his clothing and then lay down beside her. "You're gorgeous." she said, playing with his hair. "I love you." he whispered, planting kisses along her collarbone. They started slowly - stroking, kissing - and built into a fever intensity. When they were both finally satisfied and exhausted several hours later, Nick lay his head on her chest and listened to her rhythmic breathing. "Oh, Elisha, how am I gonna make it without you for two weeks?" She stroked his face. "I love you Nick, it won't be long before we're together again. Just call me lots, the time will pass quickly." "I'll call every day." Nick promised. "I know you will, honey." They fell asleep wrapped in each others arms, murmuring promises of love softly. When Elisha awoke, Nick was gone. She looked around and spotted a note propped up against the lamp on the bedside table. She swung her legs out of bed, found her robe and picked up the letter. Walking over to the table by the window, she started reading Nicks scribbled writing. My dear, sweet Elisha, I'm so sorry, I couldn't bear to wake you up. You slept right through the wake up call AND Brian and me charging around like rhinos to make sure I had everything. So....I let you sleep on. You looked so peaceful and beautiful. Thank you for last night, I'll cherish it until I see you again. I'll call after your practice today. I miss you already........ I love you lots, Nicky Elisha felt a tear slide down her cheek. "I miss you too, Nick." she said to the empty room. She gathered her things and got dressed. As she was making a final check of the room, she noticed a CD lying near the TV. "Nick must have left something after all." she grinned and opened the case. A small piece of paper fluttered out and landed at her feet. "Put this on track 4 and think of me." it read. Elisha examined the case. There was no track listing, but it was a CD by Journey, one of her favourite groups. "Think of you, huh?" She couldn't wait to get in the car to play it and find out what he picked as their song. |
