Armand left the Theater, his mind wandering back to the song that Miriam had written, and the title, Beloved of God. His mind wandered back to the first time he had ever been called that by the beautiful Miriam. It was before he was seperated from his maker Marius, who had first called him Amadeo many years ago.
Theirs was a love that seemed destined to fail. He could not figure out why suddenly Miriam seemed to hate him as much as she had once loved him, and yet, after hearing that beautiful song that she had written for Cassandra to sing tonight, it was obvious, quite obvious that she loved him still.
He could still remember the fight they had 150 years ago, the fight that drove a wedge between them that simply would not go away.
They got into a terrible fight when Armand     discovered she was seeing someone else.
"You are a self-righteous, pretentious bastard, Amadeo. You believe the world revolves around you and everyone should give in to your every whim. You did not make me Armand, so stop acting like my master."
He was so appalled by her audacity, that she would speak to him in so crude a manner, that he slapped her across the face. Knocking her across the room. She was so hurt emotionally by what he had done to her that she did something noone had ever done to him before, she walked out on him.
