The applause rang out in the theatre after she had finished singing. Armand picked up a program, and examined it carefully. He was looking for the name of the songwriter. When he found the opening song for Cassandra's concert, he found his suspicions were correct. "Beloved of God." by Miriam Forester. The rest of the songs were all written by Cassandra.
There was only one other person alive who knew about that name, and that was Marius, his maker and the man who gave it to him. And Marius was a philospher, not a poet. He would not have turned out a poem that hauntingly beautiful. His work would have been Aristotle meets Lord Byron.
Armand glanced over toward Miriam, meeting her eyes. She fixed her gaze with his for a moment, then turned away as Cassandra disembarked from the stage after finishing her last song.
