Current federal law permits individuals to consolidate loans and allows both rebates and interest rate reductions.
Under the law, refinancing to obtain a lower rate on your federal student loans involves no fees and, in some cases, may entitle you to receive a 2% cash rebate, based upopn the total balance reinanced. I personally recieve a check for over one thousand dollars. Borrows who consolidate their student loans with Academic Loan Group (ALG) may also save thousands of dollars more in interest.
