| 12-14Thanks so much for coming to my site. Currently, I am busy constructing the site, so don't be surprised that there is not a whole lot of content. In the future, this site will be a space for my ramblings on politics, the media, society, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I also hope to have links to interesting stories and websites that you may not have seen. Yes, most personal websites are mastubatory exercises, and this site will certainly no exception. | 01-10 metro- Here is a weird little story. Yesterday, on my way home from work, I decided to catch the bus near the Safeway in Georgetown. There were a lot of people at the stop and the bus was full, but somehow we all managed to get on. The last guy that got on was this scruffy latino looking guy in his mid-40's or so with this very large bag. He didn't pay, so the busdrive says 'look man, the bus is full, you're going to have to pay' so the guy pulls out a bus transfer ticket, and shows it to him . Clearly, the ticket is not valid (it was a very old ticket) , but the bus driver accepted it anyway, and told the guy to pay 25 cents. The guy put a penny in instead and smiled. The busdriver got pissed and told him to pay the 25 cents, and so the guy stands at the front of the bus and screams (in spanish) "Long live the Revolution, Long Live Fidel Castro, Long Live Cuba, Liberate Latin America, Die Yankee Imperialist Scum" So I thought, Oh great, this is the part of the movie where the crazy terrorist blows up the bus, but instead, while he was yelling, this blind guy hits him with his cane. After he gets done yelling, the cuban guy gets into a staring battle with the blind man, and I swore he was going to punch him. Just then the busdriver kicked the Cuban guy off the Bus. As soon as he got off the bus, the Cuban guy took off all his clothes and started flailing his penis around. New York has nothing on us! 01-09- Inshallah I have finally finished something. Unfortunately for me the idea was a little more original when I thought of it than when I finished in, nonetheless I still managed to throw in a few big words. Anyway, other than that, I recently finished Graham Greene's wonderful classic on early US involvement in Indochina, 'The Quiet American'. Altough it was full of the kind of prosaic anti-Americanism that passes for radicalism on the left today, it was appropriate considering the time and place that it was written about.
