PURPOSE

To create a system where Members affected by decisions of local, provincial and central Government can contribute to and involve themselves in the process of decision making regarding Marloth Park and it's region. To create a co-ordinated system of planning that ensures the integration of Members and Stakeholders identified by Members into the planning process. To create a system that can ensure and promote good governance of Marloth Park and it's region. To create a flexible planning program focused on the development of Marloth Park within agreed and acceptable land development objectives.

OBJECTIVES

LONG TERM

To rehabilitate, protect and conserve the indigenous environment.

To promote nature conservation and biodiversity to the advantage of communities.

To promote and maintain an advantageous and balanced relationship between the natural, renewable resources and human usage.

To promote the optimal use of the land, among others through eco-tourism.

To extend Marloth Park's commitment and actions as a nature conservation area and holiday township and to promote its use for nature recreation while retaining the spirit and status of a reserve for nature according to the guidelines of nature conservation principles.

To promote a friendly culture by all users of and guests to Marloth Park.

To expand the area of the jurisdiction of Marloth Park by obtaining additional land.

MEDIUM TERM

To control residential density, standards and environment impact.

To promote nature education.

To promote the creation and support of suitable education possibilities, facilities and programmes for nature conservation and tourism.

To promote the creation of employment opportunities and to establish programmes to develop the capacity of employees to contribute fully to their work programme, to further self-realisation and to further national security by improving their ability to participate fully in local governance.

To establish optimal working conditions for all employees in Marloth Park.

To maintain the status quo of the financial sustainability, the healthy financial status and the culture of financial responsibility that had been build up in Marloth Park over time.

To upgrade and maintain the existing infrastructure and where appropriate to expand it to the advantage of the environment.

To create a safe and secure environment for all the stakeholders working in or enjoying the recreational value of Marloth Park.

To develop, promote and control all commercial activities in Marloth Park in a way that ensures their compatibility with the main aims and objectives of Marloth Park.

POLICY

CONSERVING THE NATURAL ECOLOGY AND ECOLOGY AND ECOLOGICAL PROCESSES IN MARLOTH PARK AND, BY USING ITS NATURAL RESOURCES, CREATE A SUSTAINABLE HEALTHY, PRISTINE, ENVIRONMENT THAT PROMOTES THE LEGACY OF PEACEFUL TRANQUILITY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

CREATING A CRIME FREE, CLEAN, HEALTHY AND PRISTINE ENVIRONMENT.

CREATING A NATURE AREA BASED ON SOUND ECOLOGICAL PRINCIPALS WHERE THE INTERACTION BETWEEN PEOPLE AND NATURE RESULT IN THE SIMULTANEOUS USE OF THE LAND AND THE CONSERVATION OF NATURE.

INVOLVING ALL THE STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY IN THE PROCESS OF PRESERVING THE ECOLOGY AND ECOLOGICAL PROCESSES, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, IN THE CONSTRUCTIVE USE OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES.
