| In St. Jn.17:21 Jesus prayed that His disciples would have unity (oneness) like the unity that he had with the Father. Jesus gave his life to do the will of his Father. He knew for the church to show the love of God it must be seen in its on members first. The one thing that the world can not have and the enemy can not copy is the love of God that brings unity. Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. In Eccles. 4:9 The bible says"Two are better than one". The teaching is that two men can do twice as much when thay have the unity(working together)of God. We will never accomplish the mission that God has given the church without unity. The bible says in Psalm 133:1-2 when the brethren dwell together in unity It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard.Ointment is a type of the anointing. Without unity we will never have the anointing. Just because we know the bible says that we need unity, and that it is available to us does not mean we will have it. We must want it enough to pursue, seek and work with all our might to have and to keep unity in our church. If our church is never known as the largest or the mos t popular church, it is my prayer that our church will be known for the love we have for each other. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
