| Died at age 48 in 1992 while off duty Bobby was the first Fire Chief of the New Union VFD and his love for the fire service and dedication is the reason New Union is now the department it is today. Bobby was loved and respected by all who knew him. The bell tolled for Bobby after a long fight with a brain tumor. He served the department even from his bed up until his death. |
| Travis McCormick (Second Lt.) |
| Died at age 68 in 1995 while on duty Travis was a great inspiration to the New Union VFD. He came on the department when it was sort of down and helped to rebuild it. Travis joined when he was 66 years old, but he immediately fell in love with the fire service and gave it everything. He often remarked "I wish I would have joined when I was younger". He was a excellent Driver/Operator and died of a heart attack at the pump panel on the scene of a house fire. His name is on the Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD. |
