CSO ANTIWAR COMMITTEE CALLS OUT TO THE COMMUNITY TO UNITE!

P R E S S   R E L E A S E

Latinos in the United States have no interest in supporting the war driven policies of the US.

Big oil companies, weapons manufacturers, and bought-and paid- for politicians are gunning for Iraq, Nigeria, Colombia, Palestine, ready to throw billions of dollars into the war machine, while they cut welfare, money for schools and healthcare, and our jobs.

Latinos and working people in the U.S. did not get, will get nothing and is getting nothing out of this war, except cutbacks and continued discrimination.

Racist images of Iraqi people as terrorists will spark racist attacks in the U.S. - more hate crimes, more racial profiling and more INS and FBI harassment of Arab, Muslim and Latino immigrant communities.

At home, the War on Terrorism means Latino and Asian airport workers get raided and deported, police brutality cases are more difficult to win and solidarity with struggles in Colombia, Venezuela and other Latin American nations are made illegal by US law.

Under Bush's War On Terrorism, immigrants will not see a General Amnesty.

STOP THE WAR AT HOME AND ABROAD

We Latinos must work to stop this war driven policies. Our fight is for schools, health care, jobs and an end to racism.

Latinos have to build a strong movement that brings together all the communities who recognize the criminality of the war.

Students, labor activists, writers, actors, community activists and all other people of conscience need to place clear demands on the U.S. government.

The Administration has chosen war. We Latinos say NO!
