Ronnie Scarboro's Sunday school lesson

What this church needs. . .
The problem with this church is . . .
The problem with the government is . . .
Someone ought to do something about . . .
I'm convinced the problem is . . .

Grippers, complainers, self proclaimed prophets and armchair quarterbacks. You know the type, the kind that know if they were doing it, they could do it better than anyone else. We have a lot of these types around today. The problem is, you can't get them off the couch long enough to do anything.
These people existed in the Bible as well. We see it in Exodus with the Hebrew children once God begins to send the plagues to Egypt. The Hebrew children complain to and about Moses. Again at the Red Sea, and all the way until the walls of Jericho fell.
In Nehemia, being face with the impossible task of rebuilding the wasted city of Jerusalem, Nehemia sought out people with a desire to see Jerusalem rebuilt. The Bible says this was done in record time, and according to Neh 4:6, because the "people had a mind to work"! James 1:22 instructs us to be "Doers of the word and not hearers only.".
You see, the problem is not this, that or the other. The problem is that we are sitting idly by doing nothing to make things better, and complaining the whole way. But let me encourage you by borrowing a brief passage from a book by J. D. Jakes titled, Lay Aside the Weight. He said, "Win, lose, sink or swim, there is one thing for certain. We're going to fight." To that I say, "Amen!"
Now go, and do something!
