How do I get around Pangkor?

Taxitaxi

There is only 1 type of taxi on the island and you can't miss them because they are all pink minivans. They are all over the island and so its a very convenient mode of transport. The taxis don't have meters, so agree on the fare before you go anywhere. Fare ranges between RM$4 to RM$10. One good way of touring the island is to book a taxis to bring you round to all the tourist attractions.
There was one night we had cycled into town and it started to rain. This made it very dangerous for us to ride back to the hotel. Eventually, we loaded both our bicycles into a taxi, which  sent us back to our hotel.

If you have a licence, you can also rent a motorcycle for the day. There are motorbikes for rent everywhere. You can either try to get it from the hotel where you are staying or even
from some local provision shops. Just ask arond and someone can point you to someone who will loan you a motorbike. Rates are around RM$20 - $25 per day. Some tourists go around without helmets but don't do that because even the local islanders wear them. There is a police station on the island, so don't think there is no government or no law!

Test drive the motorbike first to make sure that you are comfortable in it. Make sure the brakes and fuel gauge works. Don't be like me, I ran out of fuel in the middle of night on a dark road because my fuel gauge was broken.
