Cambridge

____________________________________________________________

Erin and Kayla went to Cambridge for a day. Since Erin had only been to Cambridge once before to see a movie, this was new to her too. We left after church on Sunday. The mall has a special parking rate on Sunday's so we wanted to take advantage of that. However, so did everyone else so we had a little wait before we entered the parking structure. From there, we walked to the main visitor area.

We spent a lot of time walking around looking for the sites. When we got hungry, we stopped at this great little patiserre and bought some sandwiches. By the end of the day, we realized that we had seen everything we came to see:
1)King's College Chapel - Founded by Henry VI, this structure dominates the city and is reknown for its stone fan vaulted ceiling.

2)The Backs - This is the name given to the grassy strip lying between the backs of the big colleges and the banks of the cam.

3)Bridge of Sighs - Built in 1831 as a copy of its nameake in Venice. To see it, we had to also walk through St. James College.

4)Round Church - The 12th-century Church of the Holy Sepulchre has one of the few round naves in the country. Its design is based on the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem
