2002 Outdoor Track Previews
Welcome to the outdoor track preview for 2002.  There are a few factors that will play a major part in this coming season in every division:

    * Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati are so large compared to Toledo and the river towns that the Regionals are all messed up because of it.
(Examples:  The girls d1 NW and SW regionals.  Good luck with that!)

    *  The OHSAA's planning will have the effect of killing the Boardman Region while not allowing many talented NEO runners to make it out of the Northwest region.

    *  Unexplicable districts.
  (Examples: Mags, Lakewood, Beaumont, and SJA are all at the same district.)

    * Injuries - You never know who.  You never know when.

    * Freshman - Always surprises and great runs.  Who will it be this year?

The links on the left will be filled in as the previews are completed.  Please be patient.  I want to gather and give as much info as I can.

New this year on the site will be the adding of Power Rankings.  I will explain them as we get into the season.  They will rank the top 5 teams per region and the top 5 per division statewide, based on times of their top runners.  (i.e. - Every second under 5:30 in the mile by a runner from a given school nets that school one point.  Most points, most power.  Only a limited amount of runner from each school will be allowed.  It would be unfair if one school had 10 girls capable of sub-5:30 while a d3 school doesn't even have ten girls.  D3 may take the top 3 per event, while d2 take 4, and d1 take 5.  Statewide however they will all take top 4 to make it fair.

To make the rankings, the power rankings, and the site in general successful, I will need as much input from runners and coaches as possible.  Please keep that in mind as the season gets going.

Thanks for your patience and best of luck to everyone!
