NEOPIA CENTRAL - When you first start playing, you need to open a bank account, create a pet, those kind of things. Explore the site a little before you get concerned with moneymaking, so you know your way around. When you're ready to begin, go to the game room and play games like Meerca Chase, Zurroball, Kiko Match II, and Extreme Herder. I would also suggest Petpet Rescue, Advert Attack, Bubble Yum, Carnival of Terror, Feed Florg, Usuki Frenzy, and Attack of the Marblemen. These games are either fast or have large payoffs. The featured game is usually a good idea, because it gives you double the usual amount of Neopoints. Don't play non-flash games- they take too long. You can make about 5,000-15,000 NPs in half an hour playing flash games, depending on your skill level. Don't put the money you make in the bank( you can if you want)- you need it for your shop. Shops are where the real money is; you only need to play flash games to obtain start-up money. Once you have at least 5,000 NPs, go to the marketplace and open a shop. Update it to size three. Now you're ready to stock your shop. In the beginning, I would recommend going to all the areas that give out items, such as the Omelette, the Jelly Giant, the Healing Springs, Coltzan's Shrine, and the Fruit Machine. Put the items you get from here in your shop. They won't sell for much, but it's a start. Price them according to the Shop Wizard. Do this everyday, and in a few days you should get a feel for how much they cost, and will be able to price them without using the Wizard. Other items to stock in your store would be food and a few cheap books or petpets. I would not recommend clothes, cards, gardening, or battle items, since they sell very slowly. A mistake that many people make when first beginning is to put all their items in their shop. Some things, like 'sandals' or 'poisonous lollipop' just aren't going to sell, even if they're priced for 1 NP. Putting them in a shop just wastes space. Donate them to the money tree or place them in your Safety Deposit box. Continue to update and restock your store as needed. There are different ways of saving money, but the one I've found most useful is to put ten percent of whatever I withdrew from my shop till into my Bank Account, and use the rest to restock my store. This way I make sure I make at least a ten percent profit when I buy and resell items, so I'm not buying items for 493 NPs and selling them for 495. When you have about 50,000 NPs in hand, you can begin selling more expensive items. Fast sellers are usually codestones, dubloons, petpets, paintbrushes, and faeries. If none of your items sell, they are priced too high. If your shop is constantly selling out within five minutes, but you're still making a profit, you may want to sell a few items that take longer to sell, such as non-Neopian Central food (i.e.: Faerie, space, or mystery island food), or cards or battling items. Gardening and clothes items serve no purpose other than looking pretty, so only buy these if you like the way it looks. Searching the Trading Post/Auctions is a good way to find rare items or good deals. If you run out of cash-on-hand and have already emptied your till, just withdraw money from the bank. Be sure to put it back in when you sell the item, though. As you obtain more Neopoints, you may wish to buy expensive items, called "unbuyables" if their market value is over 100,000. If it is under 100,000, search the Wizard first, but don't forget to look in the auctions or the trading post. Always make sure the person you are trading with is still playing; you wouldn't want to have a 100,000 NP bid just sitting because the person who owns the item doesn't sign on. One good way to invest your money is to buy 'retired' items. Because no more of these items are being produced, the price will rise, even if it's very slowly. There is no way to tell if an item is retired without buying it first, but many help sites have lists of retired items. A bad way to invest money is the stock market. The market seems to be on a downward slide, and stocks are bottoming out almost weekly. I would not recommend playing the stock market until you have at least a million Neopoints. Another thing to avoid as you work toward wealth is overloading your shop with HTML. Audio files and large pictures take a long time to download. If you have to include HTML, try a small counter and a link to another website you designed, maybe on a geocities account. This way you can still display HTML to your heart's content, but the shopper doesn't have to wait ten minutes to buy an item from your shop. The most important thing to remember is HAVE FUN!! If you like battling, spend some of your money training a pet or equipping it. Or use a theme in your shop, such as a colour, neopet, or something else. Good luck!Copyrights and Credits
