| As we've been told, the purpose of Ward meetings is to address neighborhood/area problems to our alderman and appropriate city officials who attend Ward meetings. Problems such as: * DRUG PROBLEMS (suspected drug houses, dealings, etc.) * GANGS * * HOUSING PROBLEMS (landlords/tenants) * TRASH / GARBAGE * LOITERING * * BLOCKING STREETS / ROADWAYS by pedistrians (mostly minors) * * PARENTS / GUARDIANS ACCOUNTIBILITY OF MINORS (unsupervised, past cufew) * * SPEEDING drivers/ moped riders through Stop signs * * NEED for STREET LIGHTS, TREE-TRIMMING, ROAD & SIDEWALK REPAIRS * These are just a few examples to bring to our alderman's attention. And,until we inform our alderman, he/they do not know what we are dealing with. Ward meetings are scheduled once-a-month. Notices are distributed by the alderman. If you do not receive a flyer/notice, please contact your alderman to find out when and where your alderman meets or check the city's website: www.chicagoheights.net |
