AN INTRODUCTION OF NEPAL FORENSIC SOCIETY
Introduction
Nepal Forensics Society is an independent institution established at national level, dedicated to serve national interest through organised group of personals working in the field of Forensic science, Forensic Medicine/ Legal Medicine who are interested to assist in crime investigation and justice administration by utilising and bringing gradual development in science and technology. The Society was registered on 2053 BS in Chief District Office of Lalitpur District. In short the Society is called "NEFOS". Forensic science plays great significance to transform the concept of Rule of Law into living reality. Introducing and increasing the application of Forensic science in crime investigation can effectively protect human rights. This Society since its establishment is dedicated to make optimum utilisation of all sectors of Forensic science into the administration of justice.

Unity: To
unite personals such as scientists, medical doctors, experts, law professionals
etc. who are working in the field of forensic science within Nepal so as to
uphold their respect & dignity and to protect their professional rights &
interests.
Honorary member, lifetime member and ordinary member are the three types of members. Interested persons eligible according to the constitution of the Society can acquire membership.
Graduates working in any of the following sectors for at least 2 years regularly or have been studying or have been trained in any one or more of the following sectors can apply for ordinary membership or lifetime membership. Even persons who have completed intermediate level or equivalent are eligible provided that he/she has been trained in either of the following sectors and have at least 5 years working experience in the respective field: 1. Forensic Toxicology 2. Forensic Biology 3. Forensic Serology 4. Forensic Medicine 5. Forensic Chemistry 6. Veterinary Forensics 7. Wild Life Forensics 8. Criminalistics 9. Questioned Documents 10. Drugs and Drugs of Abuse 11. Forensic Ballistics 12. Fingerprint and Impression 13. Forensic Anthropology 14. Forensic Odontology 15. Forensic Photography 16. Forensic Science Education, Research and Development 17. Forensics in Human Rights 18. Voice Identification 19. Polygraphy
Life time Membership – N.Rs. 2500/- Ordinary Membership – N.Rs. 250/-
· To examine cases obtained and submit expert opinion over such cases once the cases are sent to the society requesting to explore truth. · To organise interaction programmes on Forensic science related issues. · To frequently provide opinion and advise concerned bodies about professional rights & interests and scientific basis. · To aware public about the significance of Forensic Science. · To conduct Forensic Trainings according to necessity.
