This is not the romantic sort of relationships (that's for the fanfictional pairings section), this is
the relationships he has with the people around him. I'll start with the easiest section, his family.
Isis Ishtar
Isis is Mr and Mrs Ishtar's first biological baby, and also the older sister of Marik (by 4 years). She
looks out for her brother and even through the tough times, Isis knows that deep down, Marik is not all
bad and has much faith in him, like Rishid.
She first appears the same time as Marik, in the Battle City Tournament, and tells Yuugi's other soul
that he is actually the reincarnation of the Pharaoh long ago. This is where the Stone Tablet first comes
into view. Isis explains that the two who are fighting on the Tablet is Seto and Atemu and that the reason
they are rivals now is because of the past, not just some coincidence.
Before she found Yuugi, she meets Seto and talks to him about the Egyptian God Cards, telling him of the visions
she saw through her Tauk, and makes him start the Battle City Tournament to get Marik and his Rare Hunters
to come forth.
Isis enters the tournament too, but looses to Seto in the finals.
Rishid Ishtar
Rishid was, of course, the first son that Mr and Mrs Ishtar had, except he was adopted into the family. I would of
thought he was probably been abandened by his parents and left for someone else, namely Mrs Ishtar. As I mentioned
in Marik's biography, his parents weren't conceiving properly and it took a while before they could have a child.
When Isis was born, the parents were getting quite old and would probably soon not be able to have any children. If that
was the case then Rishid would of had to take the ceremony of the ancient scriptures into his back. 4 years later, however,
Marik was born, but when the time came for Marik to have the markings, he wanted Rishid to have it done for him. Mr
Ishtar would not allow this, thus he carved hyrogliphics into his own face to share his pain with Marik. This made
Marik turn into his Yami for the first time, but he soon went normal when he remembered what Rishid had done.
Rishid first enters the series also the same time as Isis and Marik. He first disguises himself as Marik (Marik
tempererally changed his name to Namu) to protect him to get the Egytian God Cards.
Later on in the series, Rishid is in a duel against Jounouchi, but he gets seriously hurt which turns Marik Yami
again, this time, it seems as though he would be staying permenently. He often tries to kill Rishid so his good
side can never come back, but it is hopeless as the good Marik manages to maintain himself and banish his Yami.
Mr and Mrs Ishtar
Marik has never had a mother to look after him as his passed away after giving birth to Marik. The person that
is most probably a mother figure is probably Isis.
As for Marik's father...I don't think the two got on very well. They didn't think on the same terms and he would
often punish Marik, which was the reason for Marik turning into his Yami in the first place.
Yuugi Mutou
I think is Marik got to know Yuugi rather than Atemu, I'm sure he would have nothing against him, but alas, Marik
is not a very reasonable guy and probably hates Yuugis guts as much as Atemus.
Seto, Mokuba, Katsuya, Anzu, Otogi, Shizuka, Mai, Sugoroku and Honda
All these guys are just "fools to play with" or "fools that get in the way". He doesn't really have any
other personal feelings towards them in general, especially Seto, Katsuya and Mai.
Bakura
I think if the two weren't so...evil...then perhaps these two could build the remaining of their friendship. I don't
think there is much between these two...I think Bakura prefures "working" for Marik's Yami, but it's all to get
at the Pharaoh at the end and get the Sennen Items.
