How to work effiecntly with Van as tank:

I been tanking now for a good half year and finally found a system that works whenver I tank. Depending on the situation, there are certain things I expect from my bashers. It's very important to follow through with a task that is assigned. If a basher can learn to be efficient while bashing, the speed of xp/hour ratio will increase giving an overall benefit to the whole party. Also, key points when partying, make sure I have you aliased to command protect and also you have an alias to exclaim when you need rescueing. BYOS! Bring your own shit! I will not get your equipment unless it's reboot and along the way. Brining your own stuff then asking to join my party will let me know you're ready to get the show started and not waste my time. And alas, I break down everything into certain jobs.

Job 1. Packmule- Every party needs at least one packmule. A good Packmule uses sacks and packs effiecntly and picks up everything letting the Tank know when to sell when full. This basher always has his eq in keep so he can just take all from pack/sack and sell.
After the packmule sells he passes all the coins to the tank which in turn supplies heals for the party, in my case for the Lich. Everyone can help the packmule if in the middle of an area but it's expected that all coins get passed to the tank. Pshare can happen after the party splits.

Job 2. Heavy Hitter- The faster things die, the faster we move on to the next kill and the less damage the Tank has to take in order to move on. With less damage to the tank, less heals are used and more money can be pshared at the end. If I can have power hitters all around, and they keep me from having to heal lich all the time, I could possibly save about 10k in salves in an hour. Think about that when it comes to picking out a weapon when you bash for me.

Job 3. Binding- Though not necessary, it helps to have someone maintaining binding for the tank. In my case Lich and I both need to be bound at all times.

The following are Class Specific jobs

Job 4. Mages- Mage bashers, listen up. To be more efficient while bashing for me, do the following. Keep Lich armoured. Haste in major battles on Lich (if avail) and knock doors that are locked as we come to them. Saving time is saving money and gaining more xp. Though your sps is precious when you go offensive, sometimes it's best if you just work your skills in staff and only go all out when the tank says it's best. (I.E. Whenever you see me downing mentals and power killing, you can cast like a mofo).

Job 5. Clerics- I so love clerics in my party. I don't expect it but keeping lich healed and purging as needed makes my job alot easier and makes it more profitable for the party as a whole. I also expect you to be power hitters too. SOS speed of service, we all need to work on that.

Job 6. Rogues- Or other class, your best gift is tripping. Trip as you see fit. If you're familar with my kill routes, feel free to backstab as well. Remeber, the faster they fall, the faster we move on to something else.

Job 7. Rangers- I have 2 jobs for rangers actually, one is party related the other is just for any ranger that's playing and want to make a few extra bucks. First off, Rangers and your pets, what more can I say but to bash like the bashing crew you are. I will not protect your pets, but I will protect you, so remeber that before you do your own rescues. Rangers should always strike! Increase number of hits increases the damage and speed of service. ALWAYS bring your own meat to hold you over when joining my party. Fish will keep your pet fed and so will sausages in Neville. There's also other places you can go, so just make sure you're stock and ready.

The second job of this class if you're out of party and want to make a few bucks, Medicine! Medicine is one of my favorite heals in the game. I will pay 500 coins for a full big wineskin of medicine. If it's in bottles I'll pay 100 to 150 coins. Just negotiate with me. I might break down a little more money but always be patient for an answer as for when I party, I move so quickly I don't have time to respond to every tell sent.

Job 8. ShapeShifters- You guys sux! Lol, just kidding. Shapeshifters I expect to be working on their humanoid forms for effiecency purposes, but I might let shifters in if they can deliver the damage in the lesser forms too. Usually a shifter makes a good packmule and heavy hitter. But if they are just in form, you better have good skills to make things more efficient.

Job 9. Paladin- Another class I find interesting to have in the party. Heavy hitter/packmule/healer. They can give the extra damage needed, carry loads and heal lich with lay hands. Though it's best advised they don't join the party directly. They usually like to tag along so they don't lose alignment.

Job 10. Necromancer- Another Necromancer in the party can deliver some great fun in the sun for everyone. Any necromancer who can raise a rev will work out just fine in my party. Having good skills is a plus but the undead makes up for what skills the necromancer may lack. Also, the necromancer can play double as a healer as well. Ritual preserve will work on any undead even if it isn't yours. But only rot if you see me rotting. If we're fighting guards just bash. And beware of any switch hitting. If you need rescueing, have the alias ready to let me know, cause I will rescue you, but not your undead. Also, after you assist, have an alias for command slay opponent.*use with caution* Though risky in most necro's opinions, if you have high wis+int you will have no problem in keeping your undead from going feral using command slay.

Job 11. Fighters- You beasts of the game better have some damn good skills when it comes to working effieciently with me. Get the most damaging weapon you can wield and prepare to be a Heavy hitter of the group. Also it wouldn't hurt to be a good packmule as well. Disarm as you see fit as well.

That breaks down what I expect when people bash for me. It's not so much to ask for and I'm sure every tank wishes about the same as I do when people bash. Doing dotimes 100 is "ok" if you have to step away for just a few seconds, but if you are constantly doing that, you're screwing up the routes. What I mean is the routes taken sometimes lead to places where "YOU" have to enter since you can't follow. i.e. Burnham Castle. Also Dotimes means you're not paying attention to what's going on. If packmule is full and we need someone to pick up, and you're off stargazing, we just killed 10 s or more waiting for you to help pickup. The way I hear it, some tanks would of done sliced you themselves.

Also a final note: If you realize you're not good at any of the jobs listed, and are determined to improve, I will work with you (mainly if I know you) I don't like taking on too many new people and everyone hates a critic. But following these rules will help improve the party. 1
