Boat Launches

These are some of the boat launches I frequent or have used in the past for easier access to some of the spots I fish. As a disclaimer I have done my best to provide information I believe to be accurate and up to date, given that things change on an annual basis at many sites I cannot guarantee all the information, and information regarding launch fees is accurate. I will continue to update this list as I venture to new locations and become more familiar with others. It is likely best to always bring some spare cash just in case, or call ahead. Also always check both State and local laws and guidelines to be sure you are following the most up to date changes for both automotive, boating and traffic rules. I am also not licensed to give advice, the thoughts and opinions below are just that, my opinions and suggestions. If you are unsure about the safety of something it is best not to attempt it. Again refer to local and state guidelines and regulations prior to visiting these sites. I have a small 14 foot aluminum boat and my experiences mostly pertain to using my own vessel and sometimes traveling in others where I rely on their experience.

Kennebunk Pond 337 Kennebunk Pond road, Lyman, Maine 04002 Parking area is on the East end of the pond near the outlet stream. Launch is long shallow and mostly sand, difficult for large boats.
Little Ossippee Pond 489-531 ME Route 5, East Waterboro, ME 04030 Parking area is just off of route 5, on the right maybe a half mile past the Lakeside gas station if you are heading North. Parking available for vehicles and vehicles with trailers, access to public beach is restricted to Waterboro residents only. There is also a residence immediately next to the boat launch, please take care to heed instructional signs and avoid trespassing. Launch is normally okay for small and medium sized crafts, this is dependent on water level of the lake.
Cobbosseecontee Lake 617-639 Me Route 135, Monmouth, ME 04259 The first launch is located in Monmouth on "Launch Drive". Provides parking for vehicles with and without trailers. The turn is off of Route 135 in Monmouth with the area address below.
37 Turtle Run Road, Winthrop, ME 04364 he second launch is located at the North end of the lake, Public Boat Ramp right off of Turtle Run Road. Provides parking for vehicles with and without trailers. Turtle Run Road is directly off of Maine Route 202.
Sabattus Pond, Martins Point 98 Lake Street, Sabattus, ME 04280 Good ol' Sabattus! A favorite place for many a Southern Maine Angler including myself. The launch is well maintained in a nice little park, capable of launching small and medium sized boats when the water is high enough. The dock is put in and taken out in Spring and late Fall respectively. Martin's Point is just off of Lake street in Sabattus with parking for vehicles with and without trailers. Martins Point in Sabattus Maine is typically a good enough search query.
Sebago Lake 4 Chadbourne Road, Standish, ME 04084 The first launch is near Sebago Lake Station Landing at the Southern tip of the lake. The turn into Station Landing is located just off Chadbourne Road with parking for vehicles with and without trailers. *This location MAY have a fee associated with launching boats*. Due to its location near drinking water resources there are special rules and laws that apply to fishing in and around the area, I couldn't find a more current link to give better description of restrictions, so please keep this in mind. This is a link to rules and laws about fishing or boating in the area. Sebago lake has a monitoring buoy that when in place surveys information about the water quality and regularly updates this information on the internet, a link to this located here.Sebago Lake Station Landing is typically a good enough search query to locate the launch.
775 ME Route 11, Sebago, ME 04029 The second is Nason's Beach and Campground boat launch. *This location does have a launch fee*. The Campground is located off of Maine Route 11 on the West side of the lake where Route 11 is closest to the lake. The drive up to the launch and parking area are all sand, however the launch accommodates small and medium boats, bring a buddy to make it a little easier on yourself.Nason's Beach and Campground should be a good enough query to locate using a GPS.
645 Roosevelt Trail (ME Route 35), Casco, ME 04015 he third launch is at Sebago Lake State Park at the north end of the lake. You can turn onto Park Access Road from State Park Road in Casco Maine and follow Park Access Road South towards the lake, and turn onto New Place Cove Road, the launch is on your right. *This launch may have a fee associated with it use during open water seasons.* The launch will put you out into the Crooked/Songo River which gives you access to the North end of Sebago Lake. Take heed to follow speed laws while on the river portion of the journey.Sebago Lake State Park query may be good enough to locate the launch, however the turn onto the East end of State Park road can be accessed near ~ 645 Roosevelt Trail (ME Route 35), Casco, ME 04015, and the West turn onto Clement Rd that immediately dumps onto State Park road can be accessed near ~ 384 ME Route 11, Casco, ME 04015.
Tricky Pond 500 ME Route 11, Naples, ME 04055 Tricky pond access has public parking for vehicles and vehicles with trailers. I have not personally launched my boat during open water season I have only accessed this launch during ice fishing season. Take care to watch your speed and don't miss the turn off of Route 11/114.
Long Lake (Bridgton/Naples) 403-437 Kansas Road, Bridgton, ME 04009 I have only used this launch for access during ice fishing season, and with the stream nearby and adjusted water levels it may be best to be sure you have a back up plan just in case the launch doesn't suit your needs or the ice isn't safe. The launch is located off of Power House Road which can be accessed from Kansas Road. Follow Power House Road and take a right at the fork and continue past the power station. Parking primarily for vehicles with trailers.

Saco River Yacht Club 61 Front St, Saco, ME 04072 Public parking and access to the saco river can be found just off of Front Road, just before reaching the actual Yacht club. Parking can be found near the end of ~ Front Street, Saco, ME 04072
Biddeford Pool Yacht Club 15 Yates St, Biddeford, ME 04005 Limited public parking for vehicles and vehicles with trailers available at this location, just to the East of the actual Yacht Club in "The Gut" or outlet of Biddeford Pool. The launch is rocks and sand is a little rough as it has minimal amenities. Only really ideal for small boats and kayaks/canoes. Parking on the rocks during low tide is reportedly prohibited, but often times I have seen small vehicles and trailers there, I wouldn't encourage parking on the rocks though. As this launch is located on the inlet/outlet of Biddeford Pool there are dramatic changes in current as tidal waters flow in and out of the Pool. Caution and proper planning should be used at this launch in particular due to current velocities. Additional advice can be found here . Access to the parking area can be found just off of Lester B Orcutt Boulevard (L.B. Orcutt BLVD) in Biddeford Pool. The turn into the lot can be found near ~ 17 L.B. Orcutt BLVD, Biddeford, ME 04005. It may also be listed as in Biddeford Pool, 04006. Local zip code and nomenclature I believe varies on who you speak to in the area.
Marble Head Public Boat Launch 361 Townhouse Rd, East Waterboro, ME 04030 Public access to this launch is very nice and during the summer can be a convenient location to travel up or down the river depending on your goals. There is ample parking for vehicles and vehicles with trailers. Be sure to keep an eye on tidal changes and tidal times. Navigating the river in medium to larger crafts can be dangerous to those unfamiliar with the waterway. I recommend taking it slow, having adequate gear to view drastic differences between high and low tide changes, and traveling with a buddy when possible if you are unfamiliar with the area. The turn onto Marble Head Lane can be found near ~ 423 Pool Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. Pool Street is also known as and called Route 9.
