| SuperDome The SuperDome officially opened on August 3, 1975. The SuperDome is home to the New Orleans Saints and Tulane football. It also hosts some mighty large Mardi Gras parties. The NCAA basketball championship was held at the SuperDome in 1982, 1987, and 1993. The University of North Carolina Tarheels were the NCAA champions in 1982 and 1993. Up to 69,971 people can watch a football game in the stadium, which is divided into five major levels. The SuperDome has hosted Super Bowl XII (1978), XV (1981), XX (1986), XXIV (1990), & XXXI (1997). SuperNet 3 was the only NCW event that ever took place in the SuperDome. |
