Read Some Poetry
Any current student of New Canaan High School may submit written or artistic work to Spectator. If you are not a current student of New Canaan High School, you should contact one of our Editors about your submission, as different rules will apply. If you wish to submit art, please contact our one of our editors or send an e-mail to [email protected].
If your submission is written, you may submit it to Spectator regardless of genre (though if your piece if more than several pages it might be adviseable to submit only a favorite portion or selections). We publish primarily poetic works, but we also accept short stories, plays, lyrics, essays, parodies, monologues, etc, etc. There are two ways to submit your written work to Spectator at the present moment:
Method One: Manual Approach*
i.e. hand your piece to one of our wonderful
editors, or give it to a member or teacher to give to us.
Method Two: 21st Century Approach*
E-mail us your submission at [email protected]
All submissions should identify the author, and their current grade level and some way of contacting you (e.g. e-mail or your english teacher) Further note, that even if your submission is not anonymous, your identity will not be revealed unless your piece is accepted. Till then, only the editors know, and that' no biggie, cause we know EVERYTHING... no really, we do...
