Locating and assessing a web site for classroom use:  "Homework Help Memo".

Context:
This document was created in CI 3750 Integrating Media and Technology in Teaching to demonstrate my knowledge of appropriate educational web sites, how to locate and access them, and how to make students and parents aware of them.

Impact:
As a teacher I will not be able to go home with all of my children and help them with their homework, and often times they will still need assistance which can not be provided by a parent.  In such an event teachers have to have a back up plan, one such plan would be to provide web sites that offer homework help that students and parents can access from home (such as the Discovery Channel web site that I provided in my handout).

Alignment:
This artifact aligns with NETS competency II c: "identify and locate technological resources and evaluate them for accuracy and suitability."  As a teacher it is important to be able to locate quality resources on the internet for your students because many times they are not aware that there is information out there that is not as suitable for a given situation.
