Web sites for ESL students:
PhraseDaze Games for English Study- http://www.manythings.org/pd/

John's ESL Community
http://www.johnsesl.com/templates/classroom/

Context: These sites were retrieved to fulfill a requirement in a media and technology in the classroom class in the fall of 2002.

Impact: As a public school teacher I will not have access to a constant ESL certified or bilingual individual to aid any student that I might have that are not proficient in English, as a result I will have to devise a plan to accommodate these students on my own.  Being aware of web sites, such as those listed above, will allow me to create ways to accommodate ESL students in my class.

Alignment: These web sites and retieval/ use of them meet the following NETS standards:
VIb. apply technology resources to enable and empower learners with diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and abilities.
IVa. apply technology in assessing student learning of subject  matter using a variety of assessment techniques.
IIIb. use technology to support learner centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students.
VIc. identify and use  technology resources the affirm diversity.
