The Council organizes Conferences /Seminars / Workshops on issues pertaining to its thrust areas having local, state, national and regional relevance. In last 15 years, 18 such programs have been organized. An International meet on 'Ancient & Traditional Wisdom in Agriculture, Environment & Health for Sustainable Development'  is scheduled from 01-Mar-2001 to 04-Mar-2001.

NCDC also publishes a half yearly periodical, in English, known as the "Journal of Communication Studies" (earlier Interaction), now in its 17^th volume. The journal can be subscribed by any individual/ library/ organization @Rs. 350.00 per annum for SAARC countries and US$30/- per annum for others.

A Hindi News Quarterly "Prakriti" (Nature), focussing on nature, is in the pipeline, scheduled for release in April-2000.
