Patty Lawlor, SOLS First Nations Consultant (tel: 1(800)387-5765 ext. 5107) has been very instrustmental in assisting the new Librarian, Veronica Jamieson.  Patty's vast experience in  the library service was very helpful.  It was a comfort to know that Patty was there to share her knowledge and expertise.  She had prepared materials on topics that was of interested to the library and offered advice by telephone or in person.  Patty has submitted useful material to use throughout the year in our library.  These materials included booklets, posters, activities, crunchers, stickers, coloring books, reading books etc. and was utilized in our monthly family curriculms.  See special projects for pictures.  Miigwetch (Thank You)

What is a CAP Site?
The Community Access Program is a program to help provide affordable public access to the Internet and the skills to use it.  For more detail description and background information click on the CAP website link.
Industry Canada
Industry Canada has given the word "Technology" many meanings for the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation especially where the CAP site is located at the New Credit Public Library.  A few handful of aboriginal people were utilizing the library facility but once the library incorporated the use of computers and going online, we had people waiting in line for the doors to open.  Our customer/client being served has boomed from 4 a month to over 400 a month.  This has opened the door for many opportunities in the area of economics, recreational, educational, socially, and culturally.
