1.) There is a thirty minute time limit on this service.  If no one is waiting to use the Internet and the library worker is not using the Internet or computer, this limit may be extended.  Patrons are encouraged to let staff members know if they are waiting so this limit may be enforced fairly.  Those with appointments will be given priority over those without.

2.) Mississaugas of the New Credit First nation Library Board through the library worker, will take disiplinary action, remove network privileges, and possibly take legal action against any individuals who practice the following:
                 
          Violation of international or third party copyright license agreements or other contracts.
          Use of the computer or Internet for illegal purposes.
          Use of the computer or Internet to download, view or otherwise access pornographic or
          obscene material.
          Interference with the intended use of the information resources.
          Seeks to gain or gains unathorized access to information.
          Destroys, alters, dismateles or prevents rightful access to information resouces.
          Invades the privacy of individuals.
          Post personsal communications, including newsgroups withoput the library workers consent.
          Harrassment of another party via the networks.
          Unauthorized access or tampering with other software on the computer.

3.) Using the Public Internet Access Computer to access of an explicit nature will not be tolerated.  Since the Internet may contain inaccurate material of a controversial nature, Parents/Guardians of minor children must assume responibility for thier children's use of the Internet.

4.) Never share your personal information with anyone on-line.

5.) Users will not use thier own disks in the public internet Access Terminal, but disks can be purchased from the front desk for $2.00, or you may trade a blank disk for a disk from the front desk.  If your disk has information that you would rather not loose, you must inform the library worker so that a virus check can be performed.  Never assume that your disk is clean if you have been moving your files from computer to computer.

6.) No e-mail is available for the general public at this time.

7.) No access to chat lines are allowed.  The computers are intended to be a public information terminal.

8.)
A fee will not be charged for the use of this terminal but donations are gratefully accepted in order to offset the operating costs.
                  
Rules

1.)  Everyone is welcome at the Library.

2.)  Vulgar language, noisy and disruptive behaviour is prohibited.

3.)  Authorized entrances and exits must be used exclusively.

4.)  Library material, which has not yet been loaned, or that is non-removable reference material, is not allowed outside of reading or shelving areas, which include restrooms.

5.)  Smoking is prohibited anywhere in the library including the enclosed front enterance area.

6.)  Patrons are responsible for library property that they use either in the library or elsewhere in the case of borrowed materials and are liable for damages.

7.)  Animals are not allowed in the library, except for guide dogs as defined in the Blind Persons Rights Act.

8.)  Any intoxicated person entering the library and acting in a disruptive manner will not be permitted to stay and must leave.

9.)  Anyone who could be seen as a threat to public health and safety will not be permitted to stay in the library and must leave.

10.) Patrons using the computer and the Internet must obey the rules pertaining to   it.

11.) Patrons that do not return thier material on a timely basis may be denied any or all Library Services until all items are either returned or replaced.

12.) All members
must obtain a new Salmon Coloured Membership Card to borrow material from this Library and other Libraries in the  borrowing area.  All patrons who are members of New Credit Public Library are bound to these rules upon signing their cards.

13.) All members are required to present their card (not just the number) upon request from the Library staff when borrowing materials.

14.) Only the patrons that are registersed members of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First nation will be allowed a regular free membership at the New Credit Public Library.  Any patron that lives in our borrowing are (Haldimand & Six Nations) may borrow material on thier home Library card.  the card must be presented upon borrowing any material

15.) Out of town memberships can be purchased for $25 and entiles the out of town member to the same privilages as a regular member.
