Rodriguez is generally a likeable character.  He dislikes lack of bearing from his enlisted personnel, and is extremely respectful to his superior officers.  He is efficient and inventive, but not above practical jokes when appropriate.

 Bio/Service Record:

 AUG 2371: Matt Rodriguez enters Star Fleet Academy, initially desiring to go into Special Forces.  He is rejected after he breaks his leg during the 1SFODA Qualification Course.  He decides instead to become an Operations officer as a Marine.

 MAY 2375: 2LT Matt Rodriguez graduates from Star Fleet Academy, fifth in his class.  He reports to MCB Quantico for Marine Corps The Basic School, or TBS.  He graduates in NOV of the same year.

DEC 2375: 2LT Rodriguez reports to 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, in
the Beta Quadrant.  He participates in an invasion of a world where the Krazzle have installed a puppet government.  During the mission, 2LT Rodriguez charges a trench by himself, killing over 220 enemy troops and saving his platoon from being massacred.  He is awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V for his actions.

APR 2377: After serving with I MEF, Rodriguez is promoted to 1LT and placed in command of a wing of Raider-class vessels to patrol an area infested by Syndicate Pirates.  After destroying several warehouses and bases, a pair of old Constellation-class vessels were assigned to his command to deal with the trio of old Klingon D7 cruisers.  After an intense knock-down, drag-out fight, and the loss of three Raiders, 1LT Rodriguez destroys the pirate ships.

NOV 2378: 1LT Rodriguez is transferred to Task Force 58, and he requests assignments to either the USS HADES or Hawkeye Island.
