Rick and I met September 4, 1999 online in ICQ.� At first I thought he was a total jerk, said he wasn't into private chats and I was asking him well why are you here, I mean wasn't that was ICQ was all about.� I told him fine I would find someone else to chat with and that was it for our first meeting.� For some reason I tried to chat with him again a couple of days later and told him that I was new online and that I needed some help learning some things and finally he was more than happy to chat with me.� Rick loves the computer and was very eager to teach me, so everything I know about them he taught me, and to do it online, Wow, what patience he has!!!� I am not the best student by any means.�
We got to know each other more and more everyday.� When he told me he was from Canada I had the impression that he was a "Grizzly Adams" type.� You know kinda big and burly, well when we exchanged pictures for the first time, I was surprised to say the least.� We kinda agreed that we weren't each others type, me preferring the bigger guy, or a guy that had longer hair, I guess the rebel, bad boy type and he preferred brown hair and dark eyes.� Oh well we had a new friend... |

I went out of town for the weekend and all I thought about was getting back home to talk to Rick.� We talked for hours when I got back and a few weeks later he told me, "Pam I think I am falling in love with you."� I still remember my heart skipping a beat when I heard that, and I had been feeling the same way I was just so glad he said it first!� I was in a bad situation at the time and Rick and I decided that it was best if I go to stay with my parents for awhile, until I could get out on my own and he could come here. |

Well moving back in with my parents wasn't easy after being away for so long, and with the holidays coming up well need I say more?� Christmas was good for us, only way it would have been better was if we were together.� We bought each other gifts and opened them together on Christmas Eve.� Rick promised this would be our last Christmas apart...
In January I finally found up a place to live.� I tried to keep myself busy here so that I wouldn't miss him so much.� In February he got the paperwork filed and he was here in March.� The minute that I walked in the door I knew that we had done the right thing.� We held each other so tight and I am happy we did, I think he was all that was holding me up.
It has been wonderful having Rick here.� Don't get me wrong, we have our problems but since we survived an online relationship for so long, we both know that we can survive anything... |
